One of the funnest activities we've ever done in the Dells! We had a complete blast on our jet boat tour. Our guide, Mitch, gave us interesting information about the Dells' history and rock formations we passed. Then he'd turn up the speed and do crazy maneuvers with the boat that had us laughing so hard. If you go, be prepared to get drenched; bring a change of clothes/your swim suit. Would 100% recommend

Jet boat tour of the Upper Dells as the sun was setting on the Fourth of July. The sandstone cliffs at Louis’ Bluff made it seem like we were cruising through the ruins of an ancient temple, very cool vibe! We didn’t realize the boat docks halfway through the trip and offers a walk through the Gulch up to a concession stand (with restrooms!) before heading back. The scenery there was cool, but the stop feels like a bit of a shakedown for extra $ on an already pricey trip. Captain was great, stunts were fun, but the boat didn’t feel as fast as I thought it would—the jet boats always seems super fast when they’re heading at me while I’m tubing 😀 Pro-tip: return to the same seats you had on the way in after the stop at Witch’s Gulch. Some passengers on our trip tried a switcheroo and it didn’t go so well.

We had an excellent time on the lower dells jet boat tour. Troy was our captain and he did an amazing job. Our ride was exactly what we were looking for, FUN!!! He gave the guided part of the tour as needed but did not let it detract from the thrill ride portion of the tour. There was not a lack of "boating maneuvers" which is just what we were looking for on a jet boat tour. We had a blast. If you do not want to get soaked or want your grandmas Sunday cruise tour this is not the ride for you.

The ride is great and the driver/guide was excellent. Very professional, fun, appropriate, etc. You will get very wet, so be ready for that. On the lower dells tour there are 50 cent lockers you can put your stuff in. Upper dells might not have that, I'm not sure.
But, there is one serious problem I want them to address. They tell you to buy your ticket online and then just show up, but last Sunday there was a four hour wait. So, we tried again on Monday and there weren't as many people, BUT, there was also not really a line. It's just survival of the fittest out there. No organization, no system. Everyone kind of looms around the gate area (next to Mexicali Rose) and when a boat comes, they allow just enough people through to fill that boat. You need to be prepared for some confrontation, pushing, arguing, etc. If you're not big and bold, people will sort of cut in front of you and if you aren't one of the lucky 25 or so people to board, you're waiting another 30-45 minutes for the next ride! And that's if you can get through the next time! Unacceptable to make us act like animals. Give us a numeric position or a reservation, something! Don't sell tickets online and then have us show up and not be able to use them. It's ridiculous! But, if you're a really mean person who likes confrontation, you can pretty much show up any time and just make sure you barge through when the gate opens.

We have been on the other types of tour boats in the Dells and decided to try a jet boat. It was a hot day so the thought of getting wet sounded good. We decided on Jet Boat Adventures because of reviews, a stop along the tour, and also coupon. Our boat was the Condor with Captain Gary giving our tour. Plan to get soaked! Gary did an excellent job of highlighting the scenery and also doing turns and stops to get everyone wet. Don't forget cash to tip Gary at the endcof the trip.

My boyfriend and I went to the dells and gave this a try and loved it! We did the lower deck option and had a blast! The boat driver was great, fun, and funny! We didn't realize how wet you actually get but yeah you WILL get SOAKED so plan accordingly and don't bring anything valuable in less you're okay with it getting wet! Thankfully, we left our phones in the car and both of us wore a swimsuit and shorts and a tank top that we really didn't care about. They took a professional picture of us beforehand and we bought it for $20 afterwards (both of which were optional)!
Bring a towel and change of clothes for drying off afterwards. Overall, we had a blast and would do this again!

The driver was absolutely ridiculous! My daughter and her two young children when on one of these. Yes, you get wet but I highly doubt it is almost like a drowning.! Water came over the sides, and they ended up with crashing water in their faces and my daughter lost her sunglasses, and hair tie which was tightly fixed. The other passengers were trying in vain to get the water away from the children. My daughter had her cell phone in her leather purse. The water cascaded into the purse and ruined her wallet, various other items and her cell phone! The phone cannot be repaired! Horrible experience, the driver kept making things worse and worse! No one said to protect your valuables. Of course they knew they'd get wet but this was more like a drowning. Now as a single mother, with very small finances she thought she'd do something for the kids though it was an expensive ride. It will now cost her a bundle for a new phone, wallet, etc. not to mention everything she lost on her phone which cannot be recovered. I could see if she dropped it in a pool but this was not her fault at all. Very awful experience!

Cannot think of a more indifferent, passive-aggressive and utterly uncaring customer service experience. To start, we asked when the next boat might arrive as we had children in tow and wanted have an idea how long we’d wait. The reply from the man stationing the hut said, ‘When the next boat arrives.’ Of course that was unhelpful and insulting. This is not an inexpensive ride but more importantly we all had such enthusiasm for it and those expectations were immediately dashed.

We made reservations for 40. The weather didn’t cooperate so we decided to go another day. They were very accommodating, even when our group dropped to 22 and we changed times due to a baseball tournament. It was quite a discount for a group as well, which is greatly appreciated!
They had saved a bigger, “faster” boat for our group so that was great as well. We all had an amazing time. Luke on the Condor was so fun! We got some history on the area; and the stop at Witches Gulch was a bonus.
You will get SOAKED! Wet isn’t an accurate enough word for how much water gets in that boat! We had 10 teens and they each have said it was their favorite part of this trip!

About $30 a person, but we are on vacation what the heck! Turned out to be more fun than expected. Board powered by three engines cranking out 1200+horsepower, You scream past other boats on lake as if they are standing still. They have a fast stop and a spin turn that is designed for the thrill and to get people wet. No necessarily soaked, but plan to get wet. They offer a bonus stop at Witches Gulch that was enjoyable. Overall trip takes just over an hour.

Are the boat drivers actual captains ?
Written July 16, 2018
I do not think so but im not for sure. I asked our guide afterward how much training he had & he told me what all it entailed but i dont think he was a captain.

Does this adventure have stops during the tour? Why would you select this tour over the other jet boats?
Written June 9, 2016
Yes he stopped to also tell us about the rock formations & surrounding areas. It was briefly but he did stop a few times. He also had to slow down n a no wake zone going & coming. No one on the boat seemed to mind that he stopped it allows us to catch our breath b4 he does his next few stunts. It was fun & we enjoyed it & will definitely do it again
