The longest line was check in. But once you were past that, no lines in the waterpark at all. We did the Tom foolery pass too and those has no lines either. They have so many waterpark attractions for all ages. Big slides and smaller areas for toddlers. A swim up bar and an indoor outdoor hot tub. The worst part was the walk- it’s so big that to get from the sands rooms you have to go through two long skywalks and to get to Tom’s foolery it’s all the way to the other side of the building. It was a great time tho and it was clean.

My family and I stayed at the Kalahari back in July 2020. It was our first time staying there and always heard mixed reviews but decided to give it a shot. The check-in process was a disaster and there were extremely long lines...no such thing as social distancing. We stayed in the 2bed/2 bath Royal African suite..room was okay nothing special. On our last night, we decided to give the restaurant inside Tom Foolery by the bowling alley a try, the Volcano Lounge and Lanes. First of all, we were not greeted and inside just blatantly ignored by the male bartender. We sat at table, waiting a few minutes to see if he was going to come up and take our order seen as we were the ONLY customers in the place. He never did so the group we went to dinner went to bar and placed our orders with him. When he finally got around to bringing us our food...which took about an hr...my husband bites into his chicken sandwich and it was COMPLETELY RAW!!!!! Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable!!! What if our child had eaten that????? I immediately went and told the bartender, who’s first response was “what do you want me to do about it?” Ummm...are you kidding me?! Get me a manager NOW! Erin, a manager, came over and was at first rude til I kindly snapped at him and then he chose to play the blame game. We didn’t have to pay bill, which is a no brainer but given the fact that my husband was served a raw chicken sandwich and my daughter and I never touched our food after that...that should have been a given. Erin proceeded to tell us that he was not the manager of the Volcano restaurant but instead was the manager for the Wisconsin Brew Pub and that he would see we were “taken care of” if we got hungry later. So shame on us, we went and he had checked in with us during the dinner but at the end of all of that, we were still given the full bill upon finishing dinner. No discount..no nothing. Yeah he gave us a free appetizer and dessert but really?! That’s what you do for serving RAW CHICKEN???? We were completely misled and extremely disappointed. We were given some pastries upon check out but we already had a bad taste in our mouths...literally. In the end...Kalahari, do better.

We decided to check out the water parks at the Kalahari as our hotel was selling tickets for the water parks for only $35 a ticket. Overall we had a good time as the staff was friendly and the rides where fun and no masks and no social distancing required. Just normal people looking to have a good time. The only down side is they have one slide inside and one outside that don't require tubes and they are really rough on your back as you will get off those 2 slides with red marks on your back. If they where to get those the 1 slide in the indoor and 1 slide on the outdoor park then this place would defiantly get a 5 star rating.

First off, Kalahari is very conveniently located right off I-94, you can see the water park from the highway. Its a huge complex, and lots of restaurants very close by. I was a bit upset when we arrived because only one person was working the desk at check-in time and there were 10 people in line. They finally added another worker, but it still didn't make much sense to me. After this initial bad experience, customer service was actually a highlight for the rest of my stay. I received text messages daily from the desk checking in on me and any needs I had. The resort is big, with many restaurants and other amenities, and it is very clean. The water parks (indoor and outdoor) were amazing! I enjoyed them just as much as my 10 year old son. Keep one thing in mind: we were there Wednesday and checked out Saturday. Friday night got very busy and noisy. So if you can, stay during the week.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!! Decided to take a last minute trip to get the kids out of the house before home schooling kicked in. Called the hotel reservation line and was told all outdoor activities were open. Due to COVID we did not want to use the indoor waterpark but felt safe outside. We arrived the next day to find a majority of the outdoor waterpark closed including the lazy river and the kids castle - the two areas my kids were excited to use. Ended up being a terrible experience and my kids were devastated. I explained the situation to the pool manager and the front desk but no one offered to help. All they said was they have the ability to close anything at any time - no explanation and no remorse for what was told to me when making my reservation. I won't be back.
