We try to get to this museum a couple of times a year and always enjoy the exhibits. They have a huge collection of art either by Wisconsin artists or by artists who lived in Wisconsin when they made their art. The museum is not huge so they frequently change what is being shown, although there are some paintings that are always on display.…

Great Little Art Museum of WI Art in down town West Bend. They currently have a special exhhibit of WI artist, Tom Uttech I believe through January 2020 some time. The space was perfect for showing off his work as many are large size paintaings. We enjoyed our visit so much we went back on Thursday night when the museum is open late and had the place to ourselves to ponder these surreal north woods works. Admission includes a one year membership. Highly recommend seeing this museum, especially before the Uttecht exhibit is done, and then again once they return to their normal format.…

Each year around July the MOWA hosts a weekend outdoor art and chalk festival. (check for dates) This year was our second year attending. It is a lot of fun for the family. Free admission to tour the art museum on that weekend. The chalk art is a competition and is absolutely amazing. Some of the art even has a 3D effect! It's all free to attend but bring some cash for food trucks and to purchase arts and crafts.…

We decided to check out this museum when visiting the area where we had formerly lived. This museum has some interesting works from artists with some connection to Wisconsin. We especially enjoyed the temporary exhibit featuring photographs taken over many years in the Wisconsin Dells area. The museum building is very attractive, as is it's setting adjacent to the Milwaukee River. The entire collection can be viewed in less than 2 hours. As was mentioned by others the admission policy of only selling annual memberships, rather than daily admissions, is rather annoying; especially for visitors from out of state.…
