We have toured many old mansions and they usually have been recreated to be period. This one still has all the family's actual original pieces in place, including china, collections, books, furniture, paintings. Great solo tour by the curator. I had the same tour last year but missed a lot of the history and architecture. If you want the history of Wisconsin /wausau this is the place. The architecture,woodwork,furnishings etc are all amazing! A must see! Kathe

We visit this museum at least four or five times a year. It's the perfect size and the exhibits are always excellent. Some are educational; some are fun. It's free and the staff is most helpful.

A beautiful home overflowing with quality, beauty and innovation. Well worth the admission fee. Also get a brochure for the walking tour of historic home that is right there as well!
