I hiked about four miles along the trails and the scenery was beautiful! I would definitely like to come back and do more hiking sometime.

Beautiful park anytime of the year. Even if you only drive thru. Nice hiking trails or you can walk along the road.

In the summer, the mountain is a wonderful get away. The hiking trails are well-marked and other great variety in difficulty level. If a casual stroll through the woods is what you wish, it's here. If you wish a challenge with a bit more distance, it's here. The tower holds memories from 30 years ago. A climb to the top as a teen from out of town during the Wisconsin Valley Fair to sharing this experience with my own children, the experience is incredible! Sharing "The Queens Chair" (a large rock on which the kids can climb) with grandma from England has power:)
Unfortunately, the beauty of the "park" has been diminished with the development of the ski hill. You can, however, escape the eyesore as you venture deeper into the park. The ski lifts do offer an asset in the fall as you ride to the top, surrounded by autumn colors.

We thoroughly enjoyed the fall colors at the top of the mountain. The view of Wausau and surrounding area was spectular.

My family reunion included a short hike up the quarry trail. It was well shaded. It's a wide trail-probably an old service road but not too rocky.

My college roommate recommended I check out this park on my way through Wausau. I had to pay the out-of-state day rate ($11). I drove to the area with the observation tower. It is located near the highest point and offers a great view of the surrounding area. Recent Canadian wildfires have given the area a hazy view, but it would be fun to see on a clear day. There are so many marked trails on the map but I didn't have time to check them out.

Very Nice for a 2 miles stretch hike. Easy to find the trails - marked by color - mostly off the parking lot at the very top of a road. Very nice to see late season skiers out as well.

I visited this park on a beautiful winter day. The trees were covered with frost and were beautiful. There are couple of short trails at the top of the hill that are pretty to hike in the winter. There are nice views and you can see the skiers as they head down the hill. The longer trails head down the hill and back. The trails are pretty packed down in the winter from hikers so you don't even need snowshoes. This is a good place to take a break if you are travelling further north as it's easy to access off the highway.

We traveled to Wausau to see the fall colors but got surprised by some early season snow! The state park was great to explore with our young children! The ski hill on the side of it is weird, but the view is amazing!
