Travelling through the northern United States on our way to Western Canada, we stopped overnight at Pattison State Park. I had stayed there once before, about ten years ago, and remembered it as one of the nicer campgrounds I had ever stayed in. This time it was still very nice. It features large private campsites. The washrooms were not in... More

We have stayed at Pattison State Park 5 of the last 6 years when we vacation in the North Shore of Lake Superior area. The campground is very clean and well maintained. Park staff is friendly, as are the campground hosts... same couple every time we have stayed there. The showers are very nice for a state park, and are... More

Stopped while vacationing in northern Wisconsin. As a life long Southern Wisconsinite, Big Manitou Falls was shocking. I would not have expected to see anything like that in Wisconsin. Little Manitou Falls was extremely picturesque and easy to get to.

The waterfall is beautiful and it's an easy walk to get to. If you want to go down to the river bottom it is a bit of a hike but it is really peaceful. Our kids (14,12,7,5) went on the hike and did fine, but the trek back up was tiring for the youngest. The swimming beach is nice. Even... More

Gorgeous all the time but even more because of all the rain. Definitely need to keep an eye on children very dangerous!! Could not swim anywhere or get close to the water because the falls were to powerful.

The park is a State park. Well run and maintained. Campsites are very roomy and easy access. Lots of hiking trails and surprises for your hike. Interesting Wisconsin CCC information & pictures on display. Swimming beach, but the water is an orange color.

The park is very pretty and of course the waterfalls are as well. Nice little beach area. Playground needs a lot of help. Not much for kids to do. Waterfalls are accessible by hiking or a short drive/short walk. If cell phone coverage is a must then you probably won't like it here. Verizon and US cell have pretty much... More

If your rig is larger than 25', don't bother w/this campground! Was told on the phone they could accommodate our 38' 5th wheel. WRONG! We waited more than 3 hours for the spot, only to discover trees made pulling through or backing in impossible. Took nearly 1 hour to get refunded. We went to Amnicon Acres Campground & found that... Very worthwhile - walk was not very far. Beautiful view of a significant waterfall. Smaller waterfall also worth visiting - don't have to walk far either. Very scenic.

We stopped in on our way from southern Wisconsin to Duluth, so I wish we could have explored it more. We were sure to see Big and Little Manitou Falls, which did not disappoint. This park would be a great camping spot. This park is a wonderful example of the geologic diversity Wisconsin has to offer.
