Wonderful, uniquely detailed pieces. We bought a sugar & creamer set and a pair of amazingly light weight but beautifully detailed coffee mugs. The potter was a delight to talk with. Find your way to Lily Bay Pottery.

If you make only one stop in Door County, make it Lily Bay Pottery! I stopped in to on Memorial Day Weekend and loved it. It’s right on Lake Michigan Drive. You are surrounded by the beauty of the Lake sparkling at the edge of their property, the marsh marigolds blooming along the road, and the pretty bluebells scattered throughout the woods. The two story cedar clad working studio/shop invites you in to explore Linda’s work and the process of taking an idea, working it into clay, glazing and firing it into the finished pottery you see in the second floor shop. It’s beautiful work! Thoughtful, serene, and reflects the beauty and colors of the environment around her.
Her husband Bart is a master gardener and the grounds around the house and studio are fabulous and are meant to be explored and appreciated. Don’t miss the totem! The story behind its meaning and how it got there is something Bart is happy to share.
Both Linda and Bart are friendly and personable and you will not be sorry that you stopped in and stayed awhile....and got a great piece of pottery that will remind you of the beauty of Door County and the people who live there.

A bit off the main roads but one of the best stops we made in Door County. A smallish, attractive upstairs gallery was packed with some real eye catching works. The owner's skills were in full display. We purchased 2 terrific items, a very attractive art vase and really wonderful plate to hang on the wall. Not only was our visit rewarding in viewing some beautiful pottery we also found the owner and her husband to be extremely pleasant folks to chat with. Will return during our next Door County visit.

Our whole trip to Door County I was looking for the local artists and was having a hard time finding them in the normal gift stores. Finally we found a pamphlet of Door County Arts Map. This was one of our last stops and it was not a disappointment! The artist herself was not in but her husband and Master Gardner, Bart, was happy showing us around. Bart let us peruse the gallery is peace to let us decide on what beautiful pottery we wanted to purchase. And then afterwards he happily took us around their home giving us all the background info on the unique materials his wife uses in the pottery and proudly showing off his garden plants. What a great visit! Even my husband said it couldn't be topped! This will definitely be a stop we will make every time we come up!

Beautiful and very well made pottery at this studio. The artist studio is on the artist's private property but you are welcome to walk their garden paths and along the lake. Pottery has many unique designs and all with interesting color.

Many people visit Door County to enjoy the local art scene and also to enjoy the natural beauty. Lily Bay Pottery is the best of both worlds! Linda's studio is so authentic. You enter the studio through her working space and get to see, first hand, her art in different stages of creation. Even her kiln building is interesting! The gallery is so pretty and offers great views of Lake Michigan. It is easy to see Linda's inspirations from nature reflected in her pottery. Her work is so beautiful and has a "earthy" feel. The artist's husband, Bart, tends to the gardens and is happy to take you for a walk around the property. Linda, too, is happy to chat and answer any questions. This was one our favorite stops. Highly recommend a visit!

Not only does Linda make beautiful pottery, she and her husband are so gracious and welcoming, and their studio and gardens are a little paradise right on the lake. I hope to return often. Highly recommended!

Lily Bay Pottery is a lovely small pottery shop outside Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. It is filled with beautiful hand-made ceramic bowls, mugs, vases and many other items. Linda Sheard is the ceramic artist, and her glazes and designs are striking. I am particularly fond of her mugs, and have bought several. The shop is located right on the shore of Lake Michigan, and is surrounded by a beautiful garden which adds to the enjoyment of the visit.

We visited many of the pottery shops in Door County. Lily Bay was our favorite. While every shop was very nice and I probably would have been happy with any piece in any of the pottery shops, my wife and I really appreciated the unique artistry of the designs at Lily Bay. We bought only one piece and I truly regret that we didn't buy several. But next summer I will return and buy more.
