This is a decent stop when in Door County for the first time. For the next visits, it is a place to stop for a great selection of wine and liquor.

They have an extensive set of tasting rooms but only one was open when we arrived and, due to Covid, was limited to 10 people. We waited around for 30 minutes and browsed the store, but never were able to actually get into the tasting room as none of the 10 people left. Maybe when people are waiting they should have a time limit to move people through.

The gift shop is full of a LARGE selection of their wines and liquor as well as all of the items to go with them: glasses, stoppers, decanters, etc as well as humourous socks, towels, etc.

Door Peninsula Winery attracts customers (mostly couples and retirees) like Disneyland thrills young families. If you get behind one of several tour busses that unload - look out. Basically, get there early or you are not likely to find parking. Inside and out the winery displays wine, liquor, and gifts you are sure to love. The wait for the tasting room was long even around 11am so we moved on. They even have a spacious outdoor area now complete with fire pit and chairs. The staff is friendly, but they can quickly get overworked when people start to line up to check out. I'm not a wine drinker, but we always make it a point to stop in because we never know what we will find.

We were surprised to find this place open on the holiday. There weren't very many people there when we arrived in the late morning. The distillery area was closed, but the wine tasting and spirits tasting were combined at one bar. The wine samples are free for the tasting, but they charge you $2 a shot for the spirits. There were way too many choices of the wine and the ones we did try were all excellent. The prices were a little higher than the same brand wines we buy at our local grocery store, but here you can try them before you buy. Try that at Piggly Wiggly. This is a neat place to stop on your next trip to Door County.

As locals, we come to Door Peninsula a couple times a year. Good selection of wines and free tastings make it an attractive place to bring visiting friends and family. We had a terrible experience this time, however. We were enjoying a tasting with a congenial woman, when some young pup (Kyle), intervened and took over the tasting, confusing the number of tastings that some of us had. They use chips to keep track of the number of tastings, and I rearranged the chips appropriately. Immediately, this young’un shouted, “Don’t touch the chips! I’m going to cut you off!” as if I was some unruly child. I am a 59-year-old woman and not used to being reprimanded by a disrespectful whelp. It was very aggressive. I don’t know if Kyle is related to the owners and has a permanent job here, but he definitely needs anger management classes as well as customer service education. It curtailed our purchasing because we usually will get several bottles of wine, but our group of six was so insulted by his treatment of an elder woman, that we left without buying anything.

Another casualty of the shutdown. They're not closed, but might as well be. No tours, rooms sealed off, merchandise scattered about like they fired whoever's job stocking was at the start of the day. Tasting is available, but it's just such a sad vibe to the whole place is like having a drink in a dead end drive bar.

My wife and I loved not only the wine, but the venue as well. They have a very large variety of wine available that will fit any palate - be it the most sophisticated food to the novice. Their distillery business is also on-site, which made it easy to sample all of their offerings.

We bought 6 bottles of wine - prices reasonable, would highly recommend.

My favorite was “Sinister” and my wife loved the “Cherry Mimosa”.

Very nice tasting. Have been to many wineries for tasting and this one is pretty good considering the precautions having to been in place. Had to wait in line as only three or four group tastings are allowed at a time. The wines are on the fruity side but very tasty.

Had a great time at this winery very helpful staff, friendly, playful and gave exceptional service. We ended up purchasing a case of wines and splitting the cost saving 20% between us. Highly recommend the Halloween wine warmed….delicious

If you're a wine snob, I'm not sure if this place is for you...buuuut, if you don't have to spend $50 on a bottle, check it out! They have an abundant selection of wines, so you should be sure to find something you enjoy. We ended up w/ a half case because they do different deals depending on how much you buy. We mixed & matched six or seven different ones and got a great deal. They also have a ton of snack items & fudge to try. It's definitely on the casual side, and it can get a bit crowded if a bus comes in (like it did when we were wrapping up), but they have some good stuff.

Lovely place to try wines and oils. Everyone loves free wine tasting but I’d rather have to pay to do the tastings. It gets too crowded and you can’t get a good explanation of the wines due to servers having to cater to so many people at a time. The distillery is okay nothing to brag about.
