I had no idea this research station was hidden in my own backyard. I signed myself and my daughter up for a field trip to observe Saw-whet owl banding. This was such a delightful evening! There were people from other states there and the hosts were so wonderful. Please go to the Wis. Nat. Resources website and sign up for this exciting field trip.

Owls!

Great chance to get up close to the world's cutest owls. If you're not careful you might learn something too!

See and learn about saw whet owls - they're adorable!

We've been to researcher Gene's presentation more than once, and are impressed with the many years of research and most of all impressed by these brave little birds. To hold one, and see it released, is inspiring.

Educational opportunity for the whole family
Nov 2016 • Family
We had an opportunity to learn about Hawks and owls and we where there when they were capturing, recording and releasing saw-whet owls. We even got to adopt one.
There is a lot to learn about the creatures we share our planet with. The presentation was very informative and fun. Since the Owls are nocturnal, this event started about 7 pm and it is not available year round.
