Every small town should have a gathering place that isn't A) Walmart, B) a Mobil/Exxon Mini-mart, or C) a dive bar. Spring Green is blessed in having a number of great cultural gathering spots, including Arcadia Books. What I like best is that it is one of those "condensed" businesses which narrows one's choices to an essential special collection of... More

One of the remaining independent bookstores in the Madison metropolitan area, with a bountiful selection of books often reviewed by staff. Excellent schedule of author visits/readings. Tea, coffee, sandwiches and desserts. This will become your favorite place to browse and graze!

This place may look small, but step inside and you can spend over an hour (or two or three) browsing the great selection of books they have. Well organized shelves and tables allow you to peruse their collection easily and they have some bestsellers at the forefront while at the same time drawing your attention to classics and unknown authors... I always love stopping into local bookstores because I know I'll find interesting books from he area. With the help of the owner, I found a great book on Wisconsin barns!

This is one of my favorite bookstores! The staff is personable and helpful and the selection of books is wonderful- especially considering it is located in a small town. You can tell folks like working there.

I love the atmosphere of this store and every time I go I want to support it by buying books but I find the selection lacking and have yet to find a book to buy. I wish they had a greater selection of current paperback fiction but it seems most books are hard cover or have been on the shelves... More

I could spend an afternoon in this book store checking out the books and reading staff recommendation notes. The sandwiches are excellent. Great bread! Good iced tea.

Aracdia Books is a treasure in Spring Green! Excellent selection; not too overwhelming. If they do not stock the book you want they will order it and have it in a matter of days. An independent bookstore at its finest! Service is wonderful! Atmosphere is relaxing. A lovely little place!

First of all, it's an independent book store, which is an increasingly rare sight! Second, it has good coffee, homemade food and fantastic desserts. Stocked with best sellers and a fascinating, eclectic array of other titles. So much fun to lunch and browse!
