Very good

Over priced

We enjoyed the location of the campground, and the size of the rustic tent sites.
However, there is nothing that justifies $45 a night to rustic tent camp, while spending almost $100 every 24 hrs for wood. There are MANY other options for this style of camping that would be more budget friendly.
It would of left more $$$ for local shopping.

Great for kids

If you have kids this is a good campground.
Sites are kind of small (we were in a pull through site 7 sites from the office). WiFi was none existent, air tv was good, bar/restaurant has good food at decent prices but if you’re doing takeout get there 15 minutes early or your food will be cold.

Loved floating down the river, the water was the perfect temperature! Bring a cooler full of iced drinks and snacks to enjoy along the way. We got back in time for live music outside and some awesome pizza. Can't wait to go again!

Friday Fish
Aug 2019
I am going to be generous with the three stars. Had dinner on Friday which included a two piece fish dinner for approximately $10. We had drinks before our meal, OK for them. The meal was average, cole slaw no taste at all, very bland. The waitress was prompt except when we were done eating. Had to find her to get the bill.

Food was very substandard

The building and view was lovely. Ordered the Pizza and Pasta buffet. Not good. I am not known to be a picky eater. The pizza crust was tough and tasteless on both pieces I tried. The pasta was bland and the Alfredo I actually had to dispose of in a napkin. The salad was fine. The clam chowder had an odd aftertaste. My husband's burger was okay and his fries were good. Our server was very nice and attentive. Perhaps the kitchen needs to taste their own food.Big disappointment.

Seasonal Campers

This is our second summer at WRR and we love it here! Safe for kids to ride bike or scooters. Bathhouse and laundry are clean. Swimming pool and mini golf are a must. Our grandson loves coming here with us. Saturday and Sunday breakfast buffet is great! No cooking for me! It has all you need for breakfast, scrambled eggs, sausage and biscuits, bacon, french toast, hash browns, muffins and bagels, even a few different pizzas.

2019 Roadtrip

When planning this road trip to Spring Green, this was the only RV park that was in the area. The staff was very friendly when we checked in and we ended up with a really nice pull thru site. What was even nicer was the restaurant/bar, we would stop there every evening after touring around the area. Bartenders were friendly and on Saturday it was prime rib night. Was not expecting such a huge dinner, so we ended up bringing leftovers back to the rig and had another couple meals. Beautiful setting on the Wisconsin River. Really enjoyed our time.

would tent camp here again(if I buy a mosquito screen house)

First-the campground. We like to camp during the week so it is quieter, so this review only focuses on weekdays, I'm sure the weekends are, like everywhere, completely different. The campground is clean, we were the only tent campers there the days that we were there, so bathrooms and port o potties were immaculate. However, the mosquitoes! We went through 5 cans of deep woods off in 3 days for 5 people. Definitely more than I've needed anywhere else we've camped. Also, we picked a spot next to the cornfield. we had two tents, so the teens wanted their tent far from the kids tent, so the kids decided to put our tent a few feet from the cornfield while the older kids tented at the front. Come 2 in the morning, awoke to a strange sound. Next thing we knew, the farm irrigator was coming through, dousing our tent for about an hour, with my niece bolt upright in her sleeping bag yelling over the rushing water"make it stop!" Good times. If you are on the cornfield sign and smarter than we are to not put your tent less than 10 feet from the cornfield, the sound will still probably wake you up, and it goes all night, FYI...Showers were clean. I like to take my shower right before I go to bed. It can be a little creepy at night at the quiet campground in the bathroom alone. It is 4 quarters for about 6 minutes to shower. Half the time I would forget my quarters and have to go back. I found that 5 quarters is about perfect. The first night I used six. Nice long shower, unable to adjust the temperature(it runs a little on the wamer side, although first seconds ice cold.) However, the light in the bathroom is motion sensitive. It's already a little creepy when the water shuts off without warning and you are in silence suddenly, but if you put 6 quarters in, about 4 seconds after your water shuts off, the lights will also shut off, leaving you not just in dead quiet but also pitch black. After a few seconds of horror movie flashbacks I ran dripping and naked out into the bathoom and jumped around to get the light to come on. Luckily no one else walked in. If you use 5 quarters you have about 2 minutes to dry off and run out in your towel to jump around or whatever to keep the lights on...restaurant-food is nothing to write home about, service is good, it is seat yourself but does not have a sign or anything that says so. Nice place to take a break from the heat and mosquitoes and eat and play pool or darts with the kids....Liza's lagoon-aaah, another place without mosquitoes(except in the bathrooms). Kids loved it. We had a girl that was on the bigger side and not very strong and couldn't do a lot of the obstacles, but I think she still had fun. If your kid loves to climb, jump and swim, they will love it. They do have private parties here and close it to everyone else, so if you are focusing on one day that you are going to go here I would call first to make sure they don't have a private party booked...Tubing-tubing was fun, with kids, I definitely recommend tying off together. We were disappointed that we could walk most of the river, but it was an enjoyable afternoon. The river right at the campground is where the river starts getting fast, so don't mess around heading over there when you see it...So nice place all in all, would stay again, but would definitely need a screen house to hang out in

Every year a group of us 6 men in our 50s and 60s get together for a weekend trip down the Wisconsin River from Spring Green to Lone Rock. While we have traveled the entire 92 miles of the lower Wisconsin River those 5 miles provide the most camp able sites.

Our first trip we stopped at the Wisconsin River Resort, at that time “Bob’s Riverside” had a few drinks and lunch and headed down the river. Since that time we have always put in there and floated down to our favorite island and camped for two nights.

The past two years have been rainy in Wisconsin and the river has been much too high and dangerous to navigate with full canoes, but we still wanted our time of comradeship so we rented a campsite.

In 2017 we camped in the tent area and this year we camped near the pool with water and electricity.

The entire campground is well organized, clean and the long term campers and weekenders all get along very well together.

They have, for a fee, a pond area with blowup islands, slides and other obstacles for the kids and those who wish to be kids.

The pool is well maintained and clean. This is free to campers. The miniature golf is free to the campers and is a nice course.

The store is well equipped for forgotten items, and you are only 5 minutes from a store in town.

The bar and restaurant is very nice overlooking the river. Food is very good and reasonably priced. They have. Pool table and a couple video games.

On the weekends they have live music from local talent. That alone is worth a quick day trip.

The staff, whether on the grounds, in the store or bar/restaurant are all happy, helpful and professional.

As I mention earlier, we have been stopping at the Wisconsin River Resort for 15 years and stayed the last two and had a great time.
