My husband and I attended The Comedy of Errors at APT for our anniversary. My husband is still recovering from a stroke so we were unsure about accommodations to get up the hill for the performance. Carrie and her staff are outstanding. There is a shuttle service and exceptional service from all of the house staff. The performance was tremendous.... More

It was great to be outside experiencing a well acted Shakespearean play. We enjoyed a bite before the play in their picnic area. It was a delightful time!

We saw 5 plays in 4 days and were thrilled and stimulated by each one. Even though I had seen three of the plays before, I gained new insights from these productions. Because the settings are minimal, the focus is on the plays and the language. Even with Shakespeare, every word is understandable. The outdoor theater "up the hill" is... More

Book your own hotel! The hotel group (House on the Rock Resort) they partner with is mismanaged and the hotels are over-priced for the out-dated rooms. It's nearly impossible to extend a stay with the hotel as they are unable (or unwilling) to guarantee the same room for additional nights which is inconvenient at best. It would have been a... More

This is the place to see Shakespeare in Wisconsin! Outside in the elements with well acted performances. There is a mood and flavor you can get no where else. It is not Shakespeare in the park with street people or tourists. I won't come for other playwrights because I can get that anywhere in the Milwaukee area. A "must do"... More

My wife and I enjoyed the presentation of an Oscar Wilde play here recently. The site was nice, and the acting was very good. I found that the cheaper seats on the sides near the front were very good and a good value. I did find that the concession prices were very high and reminded me of sports venue prices

Every year for the past twenty five years we head over to Spring Green for the American Player's theater production. We love the acting, it is top notch! They do a variety of plays, but Shakespeare is their go to plays. Others include Moliere, Oscar Wilde, George Bernard Shaw, and the list goes on. The setting is beautiful and magical... More

Once a year I make the trek to Spring Green to see a play. On a warm summer night you cannot beat the beautiful setting in the woods. I am always amazed by the quality of the actors, the creative sets in a small amount of space, and the intimate venue. There is not a bad seat in the house.... More

We arrived shortly before show time so we didn't get to enjoy the picnic areas where they provide grills even. The entire area is in a wooded setting which is really nice. The theater we attended was a bit of a walk, up hill, which was well lite. Transportation is also provided if needed. The theater area had a primitive... More
