This includes an amazing house and museum collection that is unbelievable! The house was our favorite part on this self-guided tour. It includes the "infinity room" which cantilevers out over the trees and provides amazing views. The museum houses collections of just about anything you can imagine. Doll houses, dolls, old metal toy banks, carousel animals, multi level carousel....etc. Allows... More

I've been here twice now; once with my kids when they were young - and once with a teen group. Either works; you just would focus time differently. It is a combination of an interesting architectural house and tons of collectibles in a rabbit warren. Definitely surreal. Seriously unique. Some of it feels like you've stepped into a mad man's... I have been to The House on the Rock 3 times - once as a teen, once as an engaged couple, and once with our 3 young boys. It was fun every single time and still is one of my favorite places to visit. It's best to go during the slower hours because feeling more alone in the exhibits gives... More

When traveling west - and already having Taliesen on our list of things to see - someone suggested House on the Rock. It didn't sound like anything I would go out of my way to see but I couldn't have been more wrong! I'm only sorry that someone didn't tell me that allowing 1 day was NOT enought time to... More

It was our first time to HOTR and in the winter, you can only take guided tours and not all the buildings are available to explore. That was probably a good thing, because it's pretty overwhelming! Tour guides were excellent: knowledgable, passionate about the material and friendly. Will go again in the summer when we can do a self-guided experience... More

I visited with my lover for a Goofy oddity trip. Although it was the odd season and only 1/3 of it was open it was a cool thing to do. Especially the infinity room built out over the gorge.

This was certifiably bizarre! Alex Jordan spent the years from 1945 on building this monstrosity in his own style and it was really out there. There are three sections: the original house and two other huge buildings. The Japanese garden is serene. The music machines were interesting. The highlight for my husband was the section called the Heritage of the... More

Went to visit House on the Rock. A great attraction, if you have never been there before - should put it on your list of things to do. We went January and the House offered a guided tour, with some of the attractions being closed due to the winter season. Cost was not outrageous and tour was informative and delightful.... More
