My wife and I came here for our first time even though we've lived in WI all our lives. We arrived on Friday at noon, and left around 4pm. It wasn't crazy busy, I think this was probably a good time to go. (If it were super busy, moving around certain areas would have been difficult.... And annoying... We did... More

House on the Rock had been recommended to us by friends. WOW!! We took the ultimate tour, spent 4 1/2 hours going from one amazing display to another. Definitely need good walking shoes, Well worth the time spent, could have spent more time just taking in the grandeur and immenseness of displays. Highly recommend.

We only went on the house tour. It is really a stretch to call it a house. Mainly just a collection of rooms in which to show off his possessions and not anyplace livable. So if you want to just see "kooky" this is a good stop. There was a lot of interesting reading in the first area before going... More

Excellent attraction and good value for the cost. Give yourself 3-4 hours to tour the house and grounds. The house was like a giant museum built in the house. Beautiful displays or oriental art. Strange to see rooms build along and around the rock. Great for adults and teens but small children would only appreciate some areas. Just remember there... More

It should be noted that a big reason why this attraction doesn't have at least a 4.5 star rating on here is because many people arrive expecting something familiar. The kind of people who tuck themselves in their suburban illusions and come out only if it means that whatever the experience is, it can fascinate the same senses that get... More

Some people call this house creepy, but I loved it. I have never been there before despite living in Wisconsin for over 40 years. I thought all of the objects in the house were something to see. I cannot imagine collecting a tiled car, but he did it. I especially loved the carousels. I only wished I could have taken... More

This place is a true treasure. The is no other place like it in the world! Besides the unique house, the museum is beyond words. The collection that Alex Jordan accumulated unmatched. The musical displays, the dolls, the merry go round, and antiques are amazing. This is a must see!!!!

Three tours available. We took the 1.5 self directed tour. Senior citizens so this was long enough for us. Quite a bit of walking and stairs. Would love to return and visit the rest of the property. I had never heard of Alec Jordan. What a fascinating person. Beyond your imagine. The Driftless Area is so beautiful. Close to Spring... More

Where to start? We visited in late -1980s and thought the house was interesting and the collections excessive. Almost 30 years later - sensory overload. Four stars for unusual. My husband and I did the ultimate package - all 3 sections and 4 tokens each to play some of the musical machines. {Any left over tokens can be used to... More

Our group was comprised of 14 family members aged 8-70. There is something for everyone to enjoy. Not a museum...more like a eclectic collections of dolls, model ships, mechanic toys, dollhouse, miniatures circus layouts, "music" room and etc., etc. Pluses that have been added over the years - incline ramps have replaced a lot of the stairs, single person elevator...
