We absolutely loved our time aboard the double decker sunset cruise with live music out of Sister Bay. That said, we would have felt better if we’d been asked to please wear our masks when not sipping our beverages, however, rather than told that masks were “completely optional.” There was absolutely no way we could maintain 6 foot distances from those around us, as there were 109 people on board. We just would have felt better if the Wisconsin guidelines had been followed. Thanks.

Was very pleased with our first boat tour in Sister Bay. We were celebrating our 5-year wedding anniversary, mentioned it to the bartender, who in turn told the musician who played a song just for us! It was very sweet :) The bartender also nicely took a photo of us. The tour was enjoyable (although a bit cold on the top deck - I would recommend bringing a hat and jacket, otherwise stay on the main deck area which is enclosed). Musician was good, funny, full of information about the islands that he sprinkled in between songs. Oh, and for anyone wondering, there are 2 bathrooms on board (1 men's, 1 women's) - which was a must for me! :D

We took the Door County Boat tour which is part of Sister Bay Scenic Boat Tours out of Fish Creek, August 5, 2021. The weather cooperated with calm waters and mild breezes keeping the white caps off of The Green Bay which is where the tour boat visited.

Our tour took us to Peninsula State Park where we were given geology, history, nature and cultural overview by our tour leader - Jerry - who works for the company.

They provide excellent binoculars for distance viewing of the rocky cliffs, caves and bald eagles who happen to inhabit the area.

We were treated with a soaring bald eagle who clearly was fishing and looking for his next lunch.

The American pelican is also indigenous to the region so for bird watchers, and any nature enthusiast, I would highly recommend this experience.

If you tend to experience motion sickness - make sure you book your tour on a day when the waters are calm and you will love your visit!

We had such an amazing time on the Sunset Live Boat Tour out of Sister Bay. The Milk Boys who entertained us throughout the tour were simply the BEST. We enjoyed the variety of music that they played. They definitely set the mood on the boat while a beautiful sunset was happening on the horizon. Beverages were available on the boat for a reasonable cost too. Overall it was an excellent experience. I would highly recommend it.

This sunset tour was by far one of the best things we did during out 4 days in Door County. The tour is easy to book, easy to find, and easy to park near. We followed another reviewers advice and picked up two small pizzas from Wild Tomato Pizza and brought them on board with us. There were many choices of beverages from the bar on the lower level and we had a great dinner with drinks while we cruised. We really enjoyed the live music and she also offered very interesting tidbits of info as we passed islands and shores. This is really a must do for all ages. We were mom (60) and daughters (30's), but there were all ages on board. Everyone had a great time and the scenic views are just stunning. Do it!

We booked our boat tour a day ahead but the boat is large enough and we could have gone by arriving an hour early. We had our small dog with us this trip and went to see if she could join us. The sign outside the ticket booth had a note that dogs ride free. Many people travel to Door County with their dog and this was our first experience, and it was a good one. The boat was right on schedule and was not only well run but extremely clean. It had clean bathrooms, an open upper deck, and covered lower deck. The narrator was very knowledgeable and was a lifetime resident. We were able to learn about the history of Door County, view the gorgeous coastline with beautiful homes, as well as see some waterfowl and American Bald Eagles nesting on the shoreline. The boat schedule has 4 trips a day with the last one taking in the sunset. Well worth the time and money.

We did the Death's Door tour north from Sister Bay, dipping into Ellison Bay, Gill's Rock, up to Plum Island and Washington Island before turning back. Trip was exactly two hours -- lovely on the upper deck, as we were fortunate to have perfect weather. A Door County native, Chuck was the perfect tour guide (born and raised in Door Co but is still working on "growing up"), as he relayed interesting bits of history, geography, geology, ornithology and Native American lore, along with fascinating insider stories relating to points we passed along the peninsula, starting with the two islands for which Sister Bay was named. His grandpa was the Plum Lake lighthouse keeper. His talk about lighthouses was so interesting. If you enjoy learning fun facts about Door Co, I highly recommend choosing a sunny, temperate day to enjoy the upper deck with a drink from the bar.

Very fun outing. The staff, especially the male bartender, was great. Only recommendation is that if you are having live music, people want to hear fun, upbeat music they recognize. While clearly talented, the guitarist was definitely not adding any fun to the vibe of the sunset cruise. Music was kind of a downer. You're on a boat, play Jimmy Buffett and the like.

My husband and I visited Door County for the first time this past week and decided to do the Scenic boat tour North Shore to Death Door's Crossing. It was SPECTACULAR to view the peninsula from the water and would highly recommend this tour. The tour guide was very informative sharing information about the history and facts of Door County and the waterways in such an interesting way. The 2 hours went by so quickly and it was a very relaxing ride.

Although we had visited Door County several time, we had never seen it from the water. This two hour cruise was a lot of fun on a pretty day, and we learned some things, too. The guided narration wasn’t a bored canned speech, and the docent took the time to interact with the passengers on the return trip when there were “down” times. She offered tips and history about Sister Bay as well as great descriptions of the sights included in the tour. The only teeny downside was the arrival process; I had reserved online and only needed to check in, but ended up standing in a very slow-moving line as walk-up folks negotiated asking questions and selecting options and buying tickets and … other things. When I finally got to the booth window it took maybe 30 seconds to give my name and show my ticket. There could perhaps be a different route for ticket holders to just have their barcode scanned and get on with things. But, that was a minor inconvenience in an otherwise delightful afternoon.
