The beach trail through the dunes is one of the nicest places to take a walk anywhere on the shores of Lake Michigan. It's roughly 2 miles roundtrip from the nature center on a cord walk surface. Use caution as some sections are in disrepair or uneven. Overall this is a great experience, especially early on a cool morning. Open 6am-10pm daily.

This beach used to be beautiful and clean with sparkling clear water and now? More algae than water. It’s absolutely disgusting. I came here and paid eight dollars for a day pass walked the beach once and I’m leaving because it smells bad and it’s disgusting. I literally can’t believe people are attempting to swim and have little children playing in the moss that’s lining the beach. Do not come here for a day trip to the beach. You will be disappointed.

This park offers some very cool dunes, and boardwalks to walk around them. Part of the park is protected as a State Natural Area (called Kohler Park Dunes SNA). Interpretive signage along the trails. Also Sanderling Nature Center. However, I've read reports of people coming to enjoy "one of the best beaches in Wisconsin" and leaving disappointed. The problem is: Lake Michigan has been rising and rising and rising for the last several years. When I moved to this area 25 years ago, there were expansive beaches in most shoreline parks in Wisconsin. Well, most of them are gone, victims of the advancing lake. With what's going on with climate change, I don't know if that's coming back at all.

Located on Lake Michigan, just south of Sheboygen, Wisconsin. Beautiful place. Easy trails, great views of Lake Michigan, a boarded walkway in a marsh, a campground, a small gift selection in the visitors center. Non resident fee was only $11. Glad I stopped for this place. I didn't do a lot. It was late in the day, and I wanted to be in Green Bay by nightfall. I walked on a short trail to the lake, and also took in the marsh boardwalk. Being in nature just puts one's mind at ease. So I had an excellent time. Since there is a lot of sand near the lake, many of the trails have sections made of boards. If you have the time, I highly recommend stopping here. The campground looked well kept too.

I agree this park was so crowded during this exceptional time that I can't say you'd have a beach experience. Beach chair-to-beach chair and many families there. But really no beach space to just enjoy a book or watch the waves
I'm happy families have a place to go but for an individual looking to enjoy nature I give it a "0" for now.

No amenities at campsite - no water, sewer, or electrical. And we weren't allowed to run the generator. No dogs allowed in most areas. The tiny part of the beach they were allowed in was so overcrowded that you couldn't even enjoy it.

Wonderful state park. Lots of walking trails through woods, beach and marsh area. We only did a day trip when visiting but there was a lot of camping and a big variety of site types. We enjoy geocaching...there were 3 at this park.

There was so much to like with this place. Long walks on the beach. Long walks on the cord walk. Then to top it off nighttime torch walk through the woods. A fantastic few hours spent at this place. A shout out to Mary working behind the window, from a couple of bear fans.

Terrific place to camp and spend a day at the beach. The camp site areas are mostly wooded, environment is unique & private, and facilities are clean. The hike on the cordwalk through the dunes is also interesting in itself. The beach is what most people come for and there's plenty of it. Although it does get busy and a little crowded so you might need to drive a little further and walk a bit and maybe earlier to claim a decent swath of sand . Highly recommend for both weekend of camping and beach time -- great time for the kids.

I went here last summer and it was awesome. There were a lot of butterflies and the walking trail was beautiful. The little nature museum was really cool and interactive. I would definitely recommend this if you are in the area looking for something to do!!!!
