Gently flowing with serenity! Take the ferry across is a fun time. Easy to camp out in various areas. Just walking it's banks and enjoying is peaceful!

I wanted a spot I have have a good chance to capture some Eagle shots for my photography, The areas below the dam provide some great opportunities. But you can also go further down river as well. Keep in mind the colder the winter the more concentrated the Eagles will be.

The Wisconsin River is a fantastic river for canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and other water sports. It is especially beautiful around the Sauk Prairie area with gorgeous bluffs, and lots of sandbars for picnicking and wading in the water; however, bring your life-jacket because the river has unexpected currents!

Great place to eat and scenery of Wisconsin River is beautiful. So much for a family to do and camping, boating, tubing, etc. Great place to hold a party such as a reunion, wedding, etc.

The Wisconsin River offers fabulous scenery, boating, canoeing, fishing, bird watching, hiking, and more. But please be careful... the river's current and shifting sandbars are a constant risk. Many experienced swimmers have drowned in this unpredictable river. Enjoy, but be super careful!

Try to do a multi-day canoe trip and camp on the riverbanks. We put in near Sauk City and pulled out at Spring Green. Saw only a few other canoes the entire time. The riverbanks were all natural forest... you felt like you were the only person around for miles!

We rented a canoe and two interludes so that we could float down the river, with 3 younger boys. Due to an approaching storm things got a little scary. It became so windy the tubes would not float very easy. We planned to picnic on the eagle island, which is the only approved resting place on the two mile stretch.... More

We went to Sauk City area for the reported eagle watching in the area. As the river freezes, access to fish gets more limited and the eagles will congregate on the 1-2 mile stretch below the dam. January to February are the best times if the ice is built up and is also their mating period, so the acrobatics might... More
