We were quite impressed with Racine Zoo. Don’t expect what you might be used to compared to its bigger brother zoos (Brookfield, Milwaukee, Lincoln Park), but that was a good thing. This is a lovely, small zoo beautifully located on scenic Lake Michigan. There is plenty to see but you’re not overwhelmed by the size or crowds. Very clean and animals seemed well cared for. The Jungle Grill restaurant provided limited food, snacks, treats and beverages for a fraction of what I was used to paying at other zoos. I was able to let everyone get whatever they wanted and wasn’t gouged! You can feed giraffes, parakeets, play with goats etc. in addition to viewing all sorts of wonderful animals. Admission was very reasonable as well plus parking was free. The zoo is spread out so social distancing was not a problem. We had no problem with crowds and everyone wore masks. The staff was very diligent about reminding people to wear their masks at all times and fully up on the nose as well. They were courteous and I really appreciated that mask wearing and safety protocols were in place and enforced. (Not the case at other zoos.) Did I mention the beautiful views of Lake Michigan! Gorgeous! A nice day was had by all.

On the outside, this zoo didn't look like all that much, but once we got inside we were pleasantly surprised. It's much bigger than it looks, very clean and well kept, and a total bargain at only $10 admission. We had a great time, saw lots of interesting animals, and in early October it wasn't crowded at all. We were really glad we stopped here. Another nice feature is that the zoo sits right along the shoreline of Lake Michigan. Beautiful views.

This lovely little zoo is a great place for family fun and is quite reasonably priced. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, the site has some great views . Penguins, lions, bears, zebras, kangaroos, monkeys, antelope and giraffes are well cared for and displayed. There is a walk in aviary and a petting zoo! Plus two nice play areas and plenty on seating. You can take a train ride and even feed the giraffes?
A special brunch with the animals is a real treat.
I was very impressed with their Covid safety precautions. This is one of the few places you can take small children during the crisis, even if all visitors must wear masks

I was glad we had a buy one get one free pass because $22 would have been way too much for this zoo. Most of the animals were off exhibit. We saw the lions, tiger, penguins, monkeys and a few foxes. The zoo is run down and many of the windows on the enclosures need replaced so hard to see in. We did the entire zoo in about a half hour.

This zoo has lovely grounds..on the Lake..with a fountain. It's a very pleasant place to walk around. Senior rate is $9.00 each.
Unfortunately, we saw very few animals. Most must be in the buildings out of the summer heat. Since masks are required at the moment to go inside, we didn't go into any. We saw meerkats, an owl, stork, a monkey...plus a few more. At that time, early afternoon on a weekday, there were lots of happy children on outings for camp or with moms or grandparents. There are places for food & drink, playground areas, a small train that circles the area with a guide explaining the various exhibits. There also are areas for weddings & group outings.

We've been to the Racine zoo twice, once as a couple and 10 years later with our 2 kids, 5 and 7. This is a nice, small zoo and a great way to spend a few hours in Racine. The kids loved feeding the giraffes, feeding the birds and the train ride, as well playing on the playground.

I also highly recommend visiting the zoo beach!

This is a limited time display (ends in February 2020 - call for dates). Absolutely stunning. It took us about 30 minutes to view and take some photos. This zoo has many special events during the year, so check to see what's coming up.

OMG amazing. I was so happy we did the drive up to Racine to see this amazing display. The colors the displays the variety of animals and flowers that were made into stunning displays of light against the night sky were more then we could of even hoped for.

They even had fire pits and food available. The cost to see everything was very very low.

If you didn't get to see it this year, make sure it's on your bucket list for next year.

Twice now our International Zoo Pass has not been welcomed and honored for the reciprocity rate. This is inexcusable!!! Each time I checked the website and called ahead to assure it would be honored and then was initially refused at the ticket office. Three strikes your out!!!...but I doubt we will even bother to give the Racine Zoo an other chance.

Its the perfect soo, on the shores of Lake Michigan, so the view is spectacular. They have a great collection of animals, many part of the Species Survival program, housed in natural habitats. This is the perfect zoo for small children because it is compact, has a darling train ride and great playground. Picnicking is encouraged.
