I was glad we had a buy one get one free pass because $22 would have been way too much for this zoo. Most of the animals were off exhibit. We saw the lions, tiger, penguins, monkeys and a few foxes. The zoo is run down and many of the windows on the enclosures need replaced so hard to see in. We did the entire zoo in about a half hour.

OMG amazing. I was so happy we did the drive up to Racine to see this amazing display. The colors the displays the variety of animals and flowers that were made into stunning displays of light against the night sky were more then we could of even hoped for.

They even had fire pits and food available. The cost to see everything was very very low.

If you didn't get to see it this year, make sure it's on your bucket list for next year.

On the outside, this zoo didn't look like all that much, but once we got inside we were pleasantly surprised. It's much bigger than it looks, very clean and well kept, and a total bargain at only $10 admission. We had a great time, saw lots of interesting animals, and in early October it wasn't crowded at all. We were really glad we stopped here. Another nice feature is that the zoo sits right along the shoreline of Lake Michigan. Beautiful views.

This zoo has lovely grounds..on the Lake..with a fountain. It's a very pleasant place to walk around. Senior rate is $9.00 each.
Unfortunately, we saw very few animals. Most must be in the buildings out of the summer heat. Since masks are required at the moment to go inside, we didn't go into any. We saw meerkats, an owl, stork, a monkey...plus a few more. At that time, early afternoon on a weekday, there were lots of happy children on outings for camp or with moms or grandparents. There are places for food & drink, playground areas, a small train that circles the area with a guide explaining the various exhibits. There also are areas for weddings & group outings.

I adore this zoo. It is so completely manageable for children, convenient, well-maintained and beautiful. Nested right into the city, this zoo is right along the lake and has an incredible variety of animals for a small zoo. My grandchildren adore going there, and very affordable family pass allows us to go often. Though street parking was mentioned above, it is never a problem. So I highly recommend this experience, espcially for young children. It is a Racine jewel.

We've been to the Racine zoo twice, once as a couple and 10 years later with our 2 kids, 5 and 7. This is a nice, small zoo and a great way to spend a few hours in Racine. The kids loved feeding the giraffes, feeding the birds and the train ride, as well playing on the playground.

I also highly recommend visiting the zoo beach!

Twice now our International Zoo Pass has not been welcomed and honored for the reciprocity rate. This is inexcusable!!! Each time I checked the website and called ahead to assure it would be honored and then was initially refused at the ticket office. Three strikes your out!!!...but I doubt we will even bother to give the Racine Zoo an other chance.

Its the perfect soo, on the shores of Lake Michigan, so the view is spectacular. They have a great collection of animals, many part of the Species Survival program, housed in natural habitats. This is the perfect zoo for small children because it is compact, has a darling train ride and great playground. Picnicking is encouraged.

What a disappoint for my 6 year old grandson. The grounds were well kept, however, the monkey building smelled so rank, we had to get out. The penguin exhibit had dead fish in the water overflow. There was a sad cockatiel in a cage in the small reptile room. No refreshment stands, the glass for the enclosures were FILTHY.
My grandson did enjoy the playground. But,you can go anywhere for that.

Racine, you have dropped the ball. All ever heard was how nice our zoo is. I am terribly disappointed. It makes me wonder how well those animals are cared for.
