It used to be one of the last free zoos in the country and relied on contributions, but the economy happened, so they charge a small fee and have a deal if you live in Racine County on certain days (call ahead or look on web site for info). It is a small zoo, but a nice variety of animals,... More

Beautifully located on Racine's lakefront! The staff is super friendly and helpful. Animals are well taken care of!! Perfect size zoo for smaller children with lots to do! Feed giraffes, pet goats, let a few birds land on your shoulders! Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy!

This is the first time I have been to the Racine Zoo since they started charging an entrance fee. My daughter wanted to show off the Zoo to her husband and our new grandson. I have to give them a 5 stars rating ... just an excellent experience for my grandson with the Giraffe encounter. He loved the Lions and... More

I only gave 3 stars because I really don't like zoos. I get that they provide a valuable educational services and some of their animals are not fit to live in the wild, but their very existence bothers me. Having said that, Racine Zoo appears to have decent sized enclosures for most of their animals, and adequate care. It's a... More

Smaller zoo with the perfect amount of exhibits and very interactive for the kids. Prices are VERY reasonable, and getting up close with the animals is reasonable as well. Right on the lake, with a cool breeze and amazing views. This is a must see!

The Racine Zoo is all right, but nothing special. It's good for a stroll with pre-schoolers, but by the time someone is in third grade, they will crave much, much more. And there is much more, at the Milwaukee Zoo, 45 minutes away. Good points of the Racine Zoo: it is intimate; the staff is eager to share animal information;... More

Racine zoo is on the small side but it does have lots of animals. They concentrate on keeping the zoo family friendly. They are setting up new exhibits and change animals to keep things fresh..

I love the Racine Zoo. Low price for admittance. The animals really seem to love it there. They are well kept and fed. The location is amazing. You can spend a whole day there. Checking out the lake, a picnic, the park. The kids and I love it.
