I assumed that this would be a typical old house full of old things and not very interesting. Thanks to the excellent tour guide it was so much more than that! She brought the history of this interesting family to life as if she'd known...More

I cannot believe I just paid $10 of my hard-earned money for this tour. Yes, the house is a great capture of the time. Yes, the guy was rich. However, our tour guide was simply horrible. She was a nice enough girl, but she had...More

A wonderful tour by a passionate guide in costume. The house is beautiful and the original furniture (complete with photos) are on display. The family that built this and lived here were highlighted.

While tours are on the hour, you apparently have to get there much earlier than that to get a tour because of the small groups that take.

The tour is about an hour, I believe. Then you will want some time for the grounds and gift shop. Total? About 2- hours. If you are going now, call ahead for late-winter/spring conditions.
