After seeing billboards for the Troll Capitol of the World, we decided to check out the town as a break from driving to Illinois. All of the staff at the Chamber of Commerce were super friendly, explained a bit about the troll idea, gave us suggestions on places to check out, and even gave us a map to find the trolls. We also got a Troll Cookbook. We were just driving through with no plans to stop, so we didn't have a lot of time. However, we were able to find quite a few trolls in the short time we were here, even in places like the gas stations. We spent a fun few hours checking out these whimsical creatures and posing with some for pics. We stopped at a few of the shops that had trolls outside or in and got to browse some nice shops. We definitely need more time to check out this fun and friendly town. We would love to come again and plan a stay so we could see if we could find all of the town trolls and enjoy some food and drinks.

Driving through southwest Wisconsin we chanced upon this Norwegian town of approx 6,000. It is a spotlessly clean town with a few cute restaurants and a great ice cream shop. To our surprise it is the self appointed Troll Capital of the world. Cute place to kill some time. Check out the Cave of Mounds while you are their.

The staff are great and the events are fun. I love the silent auctions at your location. I also like the yard events like the giant snowflakes. Thanks!

We made a special drive through the town just to see the trolls (we read about them in a magazine at Deer River Resort). I read the story behind the trolls and how the freeway by passed the town and out of it came a town of troll statues to get the traffic back. What is more important is going through the town we did stop at the McDonald's for food and WiFi which would have not happened without the trolls. We saw about three or four cool trolls on the main strip.

The staff here are fantastic, going out of their way to look up and print online maps of a remote historic church I wanted to visit in the area. They suggested great shops and restaurants in town and had all the printed brochures I needed. This office exemplifies what a true visitor information center should be. Well done!
