    Lovely
I generally hate "Public Market"s in any big city, including my own San Diego...the vendors are usually overrated, overpriced, and serving up small food portions compared to regular brick and mortar eateries. However, I do not hate Milwaukee's Public Market! Compared to other major cities, the eateries all seemed to be fairly priced for the food quality and portion sizes. I had nice juice smoothie for $8, cup of coffee for $3, a humongous slice of carrot cake for $5.25, a 1lb cheddar cheese wax wheel for $13, and a nice chicken middle eastern meal for $10. Lots of seating upstairs, go check this place out!

Worth seeing, it is excellent for a refreshment break
One of Milwaukee's attractions. Perfect for a refreshment and to buy typical products (for example Wisconsin cheeses) Always full of people especially at lunch time and excellent as a stop while walking around the riverside There are some car parks quite close but I haven't seen if there are any dedicated to the market.

Feels like an open air downtown market inside a nice and airy bulding
The Milwaukee Public Market is kind of a cornerstone of downtown Milwaukee. Inside you can grab a bite to eat, grab food to go, grab a quick drink, and even pick up some fresh delivered seafood. It is a hub of small businesses from many different walks of life, and because it is indoors, can be enjoyed all year long. There is a large parking lot, and it is right on the HOP Streetcar service route. It is usually very busy on the weekends especially near the holidays. And it is almost impossible to go in side and leave without buying something.

Milwaukee Public Market - enjoyed it.
It was a busy place but there was close parking. There were lots of food choices and specialty places like wine, cheese, spices, and meats to purchase and take home. You had to follow the traffic and wiggle out if you saw a pace you wanted to stop. The lines were long but over all things went quickly. The kids loved it. We went twice in one day. For lunch, and around 6 to shop the specialty places. It was still busy, but much easier to navigate at 6. Highly recommend.

    Quick lunch stop
My husband and our 4 month old came to the market for lunch. We parked across the street on the road and it wasn’t too expensive to park. Lots of different food options inside! I had an açai bowl and my husband had tamales. We also got some orphan cheese and some meats. There is additional seating upstairs and elevator access.

    Public Market Fun
What a great place!!! Visited three times over the course of a five day trip. Weekends are very busy, but still enjoyed. A number of restaurants with the Mexican being the best by far, as well as the awesome bloody marys!!

Team building cooking class in the city
We did our company party upstairs and did a cooking class. They have different menus to choose from and ours was Mexican. They had all the food set up at different stations for chopping, mixing, sauteing & baking. We had a bartender. It was really perfect timing of cooking for an hour and socializing. Chef Jen was fantastic. I highly recommend this experience.

    Small but nice market
This is a very nice, albeit small, public market. There are mostly restaurants and food retailers, and there didn't seem to be produce or fresh meat sellers as in a traditional market. Either way, it's still a nice place to stroll and check out local shops.

A Taste Of Milwaukee (And Wisconsin In General)
A great indoor market featuring local vendors and Milwaukee staples. Grab yourself a bloody mary, a bratwurst, and some cheese curds. I would definitely recommend stopping by to anyone visiting Milwaukee for the first time.

Reminds me of pike place market in Seattle but much smaller. Lots of variety of vendors they’ll be worn. If you go on a Saturday it’s extremely crowded. If you like seafood they have a whole seafood corner with an oyster bar and a sit down restaurant. They also have a vendor that sells massive bloody Mary’s in different varieties! This place has a bit of everything for everyone

A three hour wait for a bus was a bit long so I was forever thankful to the staff at the bus/train station for recommending the Milwaukee Public Market. I took a free street car directly across from the station and it stopped right in front of the Milwaukee Public Market. I was really impressed when I walked inside. What a fun-filled place to eat, shop, and people watch. I was able to get a raw carrot cake juice at The Green Cafe, some handmade chocolates at Kehr's and a veggie burger at "On the Bus."The Milwaukee Public Market is a haven for amazing food. You can get everything from Wisconsin made beer and cheese to seafood, sushi, Mediterranean food and so much more. The bathrooms are sparking clean and the whole atmosphere feels like stepping inside a movie set. I was so impressed. My only regret was not staying longer. When in Milwaukee make a point of visiting the Public Market. It's awesome especially when you arrive by streetcar.

Wedged between downtown and the Third Ward, the Milwaukee Public Market is great place to stop while wandering the boutiques and stores in the area.

It's much smaller than the Seattle's Pike Place Market and is mostly a collection of small food vendors instead of the fashionably gritty vibe of it's west coast model.

I'd recommend the $18.95 lobster roll at the St. Paul Fish Market that can be split in two you're not super hungry. It's excellent with heaps of lobster meat and very little mayo served on a toasted garlicky roll.

There are other places that offer freshly made sandwich warps, a wine bar, an excellent meat market and other local-non chain food spots. You can also get unique Wisconsin/Milwaukee gifts and apparel. Of course, there is a cheese shop with a wide selection.

It's also a great place to park in the Third Ward and you get about a free hour of parking if you validate your ticket with a market business.

I think my expectations were unrealistically high for this venue. After reading various articles about the marketplace. I guess I was expecting something along the lines of Seattle's public market, but the Milwaukee one falls far short. It's a very small venue, and customer service at some of the vendors-- particularly the chocolatier-- is non-existent.

But beyond that, there really isn't a lot to see or experience inside the Milwaukee public market. However, the restaurant across the street (Not part of nor inside the market) was fantastic!

TLDR: Overhyped and underwhelming.

It is actually quite small. There was 1 stall selling T-shirt’s that was cool. We were staying at Drury inn ~5 min walk away & were looking for dinner options in advance since not much is open in DT at night. We ended up with a Stromboli $10 & a piece of spinach pie$5 & the cheese shop had “cheese orphans”, small pieces to sample diff types.
Not sure why this is a tourist attraction

If you are walking around downtown Milwaukee, the Public Market is a can't miss stop on your tour! From bakeries to Mediterranean to a BBQ spot and a fish market, you will not walk away hungry. The pack a lot into a very small space so it will not take very long to find what might satisfy a craving. Great for a snack or a meal. Seating upstairs is a little limited, so if you go at meal time, it might be a good idea to have a backup plan for a place to sit and eat.

We came here for lunch and found parking right away after entering the lot. First half an hour was free.

Inside was two level with restaurants and food shops on the main floor and a dining area plus demonstration kitchen on the second. There also was outside dining tables as well including a bar.

Some of the different food options inside were pizza, Mediterranean, seafood, bakeries, wine tasting, or spice shop. The Mediterranean, salad and seafood restaurants were the busiest.

Overall the dining area was cleaned regularly but not very crowded. A lot of people were taking their orders to go or eating outside.

We enjoyed the vibe, setting and our lunch.

The place is great! We had a 6 hour layover and took an Uber into Milwaukee. We were starving and ordered a little bit of everything at Public Market. The space is awesome. Funky and decorated really cool. My kids loved looking at everything inside, we tried a little bit of everything, pizza, a wrap, smoothies and desserts. The service was a little slow, but everything was made to order so worth it in my opinion. Lots of tables to eat at a huge window to people watch. Such a nice town and so clean, good people.

Milwaukee Public Market is a super cool place to meet people and hang out. They have many epicurean little shops inside from fresh fish, prime meats, gourmet coffee and barista bar, chocolates, wines, baked goods, mini eateries like sushi, Mediterranean, pizza, sandwiches, ribs and a beautiful fresh fish and oyster bar (St Paul’s) in the very back with bar and table seating, Of course…various cheese and curds are here too! It’s fun walking through and seeing all the interesting items. Everything in this market is delicious! There’s something for everyone at decent prices as well. We stop here every time we come to Milwaukee.

Lots of prepared food stalls. Some other stalls sold retail items like cheeses, spices, T shirts, and sausages. The creative Bloody Mary’s seem to be a worthwhile option especially the one with a lobster tail. If you are not eating or drinking, you’ll be on your way in 15 minutes.
