Really enjoyed our visit. THis place has a lot of yesteryear items. Toys, games, doctor items, grocery store, soda fountain. Items from the 1920's to the 40's. Items showing you what they looked like back then. It's been around about 4.5 years. Mr. Chudnow was a local lawyer and business man, who collected all kinds of the yesteryear items as... More

Avrum Chudnow's Dad was a salvage collector - as a kid, I remember those horse drawn wagons combing through my neighborhood picking up all manner of scrap and goods. As a young boy, Mr. Chudnow saw the value of collecting and saving things that now gives us a look at the way things were. Nicely staged in the German Rival... More

Thank you for the very detailed review! Yes, horses and wagons were on the streets of Milwaukee even in the 1950s. Youngsters can only imagine the congestion with cars, bicycles, street cars, buses and horses all traveling on the roads. I wonder what things today people are saving that will be marveled at in 70 years? This is what Mr.... More

Neat place to visit. I was there for a "50th" birthday party. We were able to rent the museum out. We had catered food and brought beverages for the guests. Fun place to see in Milwaukee.

Okay, if you have an hour to kill in Milwaukee and appreciate the eccentric, GO HERE. There is nothing more satisfying than meeting a person who loves what they do, and the man who hosted us here last Saturday (I say "hosted," because we truly felt like welcomed guests) is a prime example. This is a nifty little place full... More

I am one of those that consider's "weird" a compliment, so thank you very much! An hour is enough time to see each exhibit in this large house, although many people explore longer than that. We definitely do love the work as the same people giving you tours, usually the director and myself, are the same people changing and cleaning... More

I visited Chudnow in hope of learning more about Milwaukee's (and Wisconsin) history. I was beyond pleased with the result. I did a guided tour with a very nice and knowledgeable gentleman (sorry, I forgot the name, I'm bad with names) through the house. The tour included an old ice cream chop, a shop, train station, doctor's office, and so... More

I have lived in Milwaukee my whole life and didn't know a lot of the things I learned during my tour at the Chudnow Museum. The tour guide was wonderful: funny, entertaining, and informative. The museum also shows short films about different periods in Milwaukee's history. I loved this museum! I definitely recommend it for all ages.

Took a Sunday in December for a trip and was really impressed with the collection. Anyone that's in that early Boomer stage will enjoy walking through the house, a former doctor's office. I'll be bringing some friends back this year.

Our tour guide, Steve, the director, did a fabulous job of showing us the museum. I wanted our 11 year-old and his friend to see where things come from versus their push of a button modern existence. Very enjoyable!
