Disappointed they are no longer open
Jul 2021
They are no longer open! On every website it did not state they were no longer in service. We were excited to visit, but when we arrived the windows had been darkened and there was no one there. We called the phone number and it was disconnected. There were some gentlemen working close by, and they stated they were no longer in business. So .. skip this spot! Bummer

Very NICE folks running the place. This was our FIRST stop on our 4 day get-away to Milwaukee and it sure was a fun way to start the adventure. Thank you so much for your hospitality, we enjoyed our time here.

A unique hidden gem
Sep 2019
You won't find anything like it! The Chudnow Museum is such a cozy slice of history that will make anyone feel nostalgic and curious about history. The well curated displays offer interesting glimpses into the past and help provide context to the America of the 20th century.

History at its best! Awesome!

This is a must see while visiting Milwaukee!! We couldn’t believe we had never been here before so don’t wait go visit! Joel the curator at the museum was passionate about the history and you could tell he loved sharing the memories of yesteryear!! There was a scavenger hunt activity for kids (adults could help too) - very engaging! Each room was unique and rotating exhibits will make you want to visit again and again! We absolutely had a blast and loved our Dang root beer treat and gift shop experience as well!! Truly a hidden gem in Milwaukee!

Great Collection of Items
Jul 2020
We did this on our final day in Milwaukee. This is an amazing collection of American nostalgia. It was amazing to see all the items from the past. It's also arranged very nicely. There are different "themes" for each room. The building looks small, but it's about 3000 sqft on the inside. There is a secret room somewhere in the museum you need to try and find. They have a rotating exhibit. Right now it's a baseball exhibit with items from the Milwaukee Braves (before they moved to ATL). In talking with the curator we found out the items on display rotated out and was about 5% of the total collection. It's amazing to see all the old items and bring back memories of times gone by. This is definitely worth a stop if you are in the Milwaukee area.

Blast from the past
Jul 2020
This museum is definitely a hidden gem. My family and I visited and we were impressed with the artifacts in this museum. The admission fee is so cheap and definitely worth the money. This is fun for all ages and very informational. You will enjoy all the displays and artifacts. There is even a secret door in one of the rooms if you can find it. My favorite part was that they had a real working old style phone that you can actually use! Definitely worth a visit!

SO MUCH FUN

It's super cute and tiny but filled with so much information and knowledge about the past. It's fun to talk on those old phones.

Thank you for the visit! An operator isn't even needed for a party line call on our old phones.

Great little museum!
Feb 2020
We stopped here for an hour and loved it! There's free parking behind the house, a $4 per adult admission with map, and a really knowledgeable guy at the desk full of interesting facts. The exhibits rotate, so there's always different things to enjoy. The pieces were all in great shape, very well restored, and much of it was local. It was fascinating here and we would definitely come back!

Thank you for visiting us! Yes, we change many room exhibits once a year and some of our smaller exhibits more frequently. Most exhibits represent a shop or store at the time so we use original pieces only and are proud of their condition.

Memories of Mid-Century Milwaukee
May 2019
This is a small museum with pictures and artifacts of Milwaukee. I would recommend for baby-boomers who grew up in Milwaukee and anyone curious about life here in the mid 1900s.

Thanks for giving us a chance! We exhibit original artifacts between the two world wars. Baby-boomers or later get nostalgistic for parents' and grand-parents' time.

Milwaukee Doors Open 2019
Sep 2019
Awesome collection of every kind of item you can think of from the past. We got in free for the Milwaukee Doors Open & this was a must see, so worth it. They even opened the garage that day for even more items that you wouldn't normally get to see. Apparently this is only a portion of the actual collection, so I guess they change out the rooms in order to display items that are sitting in a warehouse. See pictures for a portion of what we saw.

Glad you were able to visit us during Doors Open! The rain kicked up so much on the second day that we closed the garage a few hours before the end of the open house. Since your visit, we've changed our one seasonal window four times, one large display completely (another large one soon) and two smaller displays completely. Every week different things are put out.
