Discovery World connects innovation, science, technology and the environment with exploration and learning through interactive exhibits and experiential learning programs. We are dedicated to helping people positively impact their communities by developing a better understanding of technology and the environment while fostering both innovation and creativity. Discovery World is a 120,000-square foot facility that includes interactive science, technology and freshwater exhibits, learning labs, theaters, television and audio studios, and fresh and saltwater aquariums. Venture into our world of technology Take a 3-D journey into virtual environments. Feel the dips and dives of flying an airplane. Lie on a bed of nails. See the inside of a nuclear reactor. Immerse yourself in our world of water See aquatic life from the Great Lakes, North Atlantic, and the Caribbean. Interact with stingrays, sea urchins, sturgeons, and more in our touch tank. Navigate your own ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle). View the world's largest model of the Great Lakes while you learn about native amphibians, reptiles, and fish. Discovery World is also home to the S/V Denis Sullivan, a 137-foot replica of a 19th century Great Lakes schooner and a floating classroom for water education and conservation programs, day and night sails, and private receptions. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, our grounds and promenade provide plenty of opportunity for strolling, picnicking or just enjoying the view.

My kids love the aquarium section and the touch tank where they can touch the sting rays. They also love exploring the inside tall ship. A hands on museum.

This museum is very hands on and has unique exhibits/activities I have not seen at other museums, like a flight simulator, robotics section, etc... My husband loved it, and we could have easily spent 4 hours there if we didn't have kiddos. The technology was...More

Great place of fun learning for all the kids about science. They all loved the flight simulator even though they all crushed their planes. They didn't want to pet the fish but they were great to look at. There is lots to do at various...More

This is geared heavily towards kids. That said, they had a very interesting Les Paul exhibit. There were a number of mechanical/automated exhibits that entertained 2 adults. I tried to make the toy fish but the material wasn't stamped out very well. There was a...More

We just visited today with our 3 year old and 5 month old. There is a wide variety of areas to visit and everything is extremely interactive! My one complaint is that it wasn't great for young kids. Many of the activities were for older...More

Amazing, overwhelming, thoughtful and entertaining. Don't expect to see and do everything -- not even possible. We let kids lead the way and take in what interested them. The Aqua section was the biggest hit, especially the Feel Pools.

My husband and I decided to spend the afternoon here while in town. It was a nice place. There are lots of hands on items. It's mostly centered around children but I learned a lot and had a nice afternoon.

We came with family, a 5 year old and 9 month old and it kept the 5 year old busy. There was a lot of stuff to do and it was very educational as well. Would definitely recommend!

I'm not much of a museum guy, but then again Discovery World really isn't your typical museum. This a a hands on learning venue that stimulates your mind and tantalizes your senses. People of all ages can find something interesting in this place, from the...More
