Discovery World connects innovation, science, technology and the environment with exploration and learning through interactive exhibits and experiential learning programs.

We are dedicated to helping people positively impact their communities by developing a better understanding of technology and the environment while fostering both innovation and creativity.

Discovery World is a 120,000-square foot facility that includes interactive science, technology and freshwater exhibits, learning labs, theaters, television and audio studios, and fresh and saltwater aquariums.

Venture into our world of technology

Take a 3-D journey into virtual environments.

Feel the dips and dives of flying an airplane.

Lie on a bed of nails.

See the inside of a nuclear reactor.

Immerse yourself in our world of water

See aquatic life from the Great Lakes, North Atlantic, and the Caribbean.

Interact with stingrays, sea urchins, sturgeons, and more in our touch tank.

Navigate your own ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle).

View the world's largest model of the Great Lakes while you learn about native amphibians, reptiles, and fish.

Discovery World is also home to the S/V Denis Sullivan, a 137-foot replica of a 19th century Great Lakes schooner and a floating classroom for water education and conservation programs, day and night sails, and private receptions.

Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, our grounds and promenade provide plenty of opportunity for strolling, picnicking or just enjoying the view.

Our family enjoys this place because there is something for everyone. The exhibits change regularly so it's worth it to have a membership to visit often. There is a military discount and kids 3 and under are free. Kohls Design It lab is a fun way for kids to explore art. It is open on the weekends and free with... More

The plethora of exhibits appeal to a wide variety of ages. The staff is always friendly and helpful. There are many hands-on activities, and curiosity is encouraged! Well worth the price of membership.

Pros: variety of exhibits. It's basically 2-for-1 admission, since you get to see the science museum and aquarium. I liked the local focus of some of the exhibits - like the Great Lakes display. Cons: some of the exhibits were cheesy. Some staff weren't too professional. I wished there was a cafe and/or coffee shop on-site.

A wonderful museum, aquarium and climate center set on the shores of Lake Michigan. If you search the Internet or you are with a large group, you can get discounts on your admission. If you join the Discovery Center, park under the building for a discounted price. We spent at least 2 hours at the discovery center with the grandchildren.... More

Such a cool place, not just for the kids, but adults, too. Fun and interactive. Really enjoyed the flight simulator, the mechanical toys and the fish tanks. Only reason not 5 stars, it's expensive. Don't let that deter you...it's fun for all!

This is an interesting place for kids over 5, especially if they are hands on learners. AND adults, you need to stick around to demonstrate or explain a bit so that they understand what the different stations are about. I suggest you first wander around to see what all is available and then go back to the areas that are... More

There are so many things to see and learn about. How things work, fun things to make, and an Aquarium to enjoy! My favorites are the Bed of Nails and the Les Paul Exhibit. It is set right on Lake Michigan - so beautiful

I love going to Discovery World. My favorite attraction is Discovery World is The Music Factory. In The Music Factory, you can pick your colors you want on the screen and the balls will drop by order! And I recommend you to take a ride on the Lever or looking at the planets at the Hive 3D. Also, make sure... More

We went with a small group of family from ages 10 to 61 and we all had a great time! Such a hands on experience for everyone. So much to do, we weren't able to do it all in one visit!

What a great time we had. We came as a family with adults and small children. This was an interesting hands on day of fun for all of us.
