On our way to Mpls we stopped in for a free tour (email ahead of time for tour hours). Upon arrival Rosemary gave us a great tour of this wonderful building and art center. A real gem. The history is very interesting. If you are passing by on I-94 take an hour or two detour and visit this place. It... More

I have lived near this beautiful building for 40 years. Every time I step inside, I am struck with the beauty of this structure. The building had a make over a few years ago so it is handicap accessible. Every month of the year the varied presentations and entertainment are top notch. Tours are available, but check times before you... More

We saw a travelling jazz trio play there and it was top notch and the tickets were quite reasonable (compared to if we'd paid for that same quality of musicians in Minneapolis). The setting has restored the same scenes I'd imagine in a theater in the Victorian era with lovely and ornate stage, ceilings, box seats with so much gold... More

We stopped by the theatre while in Menomonie. I knew nothing about the Tainter family. We took a 45 minute tour of the center with our guide, Lucy. She gave us history on the family and Menomonie. She also spoke about the condition of the theater prior to the renovation. I'm curious to see the other Tainted family buildings and... More

Good place to go for a dress up dinner theatre. Old seats and balcony. Many local plays are put on here. They have a gift shop. Nice tour during weekends. Self and assisted tours are available. I would plan on going here for a dress up night with dinner. Nice place if you are in the area but I would... More

We are season ticket holders for the plays that are performed at the Mabel Tainter. We highly recommend the Mable Tainter experience.

This beautiful theater is located in the downtown area, which is also a shopping and restaurant district with very friendly and helpful merchants, and located just on the northern edge of the University of Wisconsin (Stout). The theater has main floor and balcony seating, although there are not an abundance of seats, I'm estimating perhaps150-180 seats. The wood seats have... More
