I learned a lot about minerals in Wisconsin. loved the gift shop. I bought many rocks I had never seen before and started a new collection.

While waiting for the Barlow Planetarium show [around the corner from the Museum in the same building], we took our 7, 9 & 10-year old granddaughters to this Museum. It's small, so the ticket price is right - $1 for children $3 for adults. There were a few hands-on activities for the girls - jumping up & down to make... More

When not able to get out rock collecting, go here. No charge for the rock shop and they have many pieces to choose from. Also, a great selection for young collectors. The gal behind the counter is very well informed, too.

This small museum is a real must see for people not needing hands on activities. Many interesting and educational geological exhibits in a small space. Their collection of semi precious gems was large and well displayed. I would visit again.

This is not normally a place I would be interested in seeing but IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The young lady working in the gift shop was incredibly knowledgeable and very friendly working with my daughter and I. There is a small fee to enter the museum but you can shop in the store for free. The shop offers gift items,... More

The Weis is a very small museum and has a very small fee. There is an informative section for kids with touchable rocks and bones, a huge selection of various rocks behind glass and minerals. During our visit we were lucky enough to see the world's best preserved dinosaur eggs, which was something even the Milwaukee didn't have. Stan the... More

Nice place, not overwhelming. You can go through it in an hour or two. Nice gift shop to buy books, jewelry and minerals. Friendly people.

Very small (even smaller than expected), but given the small fee ($2 adult, $1 child) one shouldn't complain. It was clean and modern. We were there only about 20 minutes which was enough to see everything (given that you didn't read all the exhibit info). It's nice that it's directly attached to the Barlow Planetarium (in same building). Free parking... More

We visited the Weis museum for a couple hours during a recent trip to Appleton. Our kids are 5 (daughter) and 7 (son). Our daughter was pretty bored as most of the exhibits require a lot of reading and comprehension. Our son was into a lot of the exhibits, but the boredom of our daughter affected our overall experience. So... More
