I purchased a dog sled tour at Jim's Siberian Outpost as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. Jim is a bit old school, no website, but they do have a Facebook page. Reservations are taken over the phone with only verbal confirmation. Jim did call me a week beforehand to confirm. All that aside, we had a fantastic experience! You can tell this is a labor of love for Jim. He rescues all the dogs on-site, no breeding. He did have three other staff there the day we were there, so they were able to run two teams, so we rode with another couple, one couple on each sled. You are given some time to play with the dogs and Jim will take the time to take about the sport and answer questions. We were able to schedule a reservation pretty easily during the COVID-19 pandemic, however, Jim and the staff noted reservation usually need to be made months in advance. It was a very cool and unique experience and another bucket list item crossed off the list!

I planned a trip for February 16 back in December. We had rescheduled our trip from December to February and planned my whole weekend around it. I called 6 days before to confirm given Jim, the owner, doesn't have any methods of confirming - no email, nothing. When I got on the phone with Jim, he claimed I had cancelled my trip and started calling me a liar and yelling at me. I had planned this whole trip around this event for months and Jim had no sympathy, saying another group booked that date and I'm out of luck. He was clearly getting old and his reservation system consisted of written notes and post-it notes. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Very fun outing in Wisconsin. We all enjoyed the ride, the kids loved the dogs and playing with them. And Jim entertained us with education and great stories, thanks Jim!

I found the information on Jim's Siberian Outpost online and called to check on availability for a dog sled ride for our friends that were visiting from Florida. We were lucky, as there was a cancellation and we were able to get in on the last day of their trip. The entire experience was amazing. Jim is a wonderful man full of love for his dogs and the sport. He took the time to teach us all about dog sledding and it wasn't just a ride that is offered, our friends were able to mush their own sleds. We all had so much fun and can't wait to come back and do it again. The best quote of the day was from an 11 year old girl who said that her experience at Jim's Siberian Outpost "was more fun than Disney World!!!!" I would have to agree. Thank you Jim.
