We got married in this St. Rose Chapel 50 years ago (August 19, 1972) we and decided to return on our 50th anniversary for a Mass and a blessing by the priest (if he would be willing). I was an alumni who earned a nursing degree in l973.
We were given contact information to the sister in charge of the liturgies. She spoke to the retired priest who offers Mass during the week and he was willing and happy to include us on this special day.
We were filled with joy by the welcome extended to us by the sisters that live in this convent and by the priest who celebrated Mass that day. Plus he gave a beautiful sermon about love and commitment. And the sister that played the organ and piano also played a hymn on the harp. It penetrated our souls.
After the Mass we were given a special tour of the chapel for Perpetual Adoration.

I learned of the FSPA when I started working at Viterbo. I since have become an affiliate and volunteer for their adoration hour. It is such a beautiful and calming place. The workmanship is beautiful. If you can take a tour, I would definitely try and go. The sisters are so welcoming. It feels like a big hug when you walk through the building.

The Sisters offer a free tour of the convent and the chapel and if you have any interest in history, the church, the Sisters, or the chapel, it is well worth the time. I learned so much about all of the above in our tour but what I found most fascinating was that the splendor and oppulence in the chapel is actually mostly faux finishes by master european artisans - amazing.

We love historical architecture, and this building is stunning. You have to take a guided tour with a nun (who was quite stern with our tour group, but as non-believers we felt this added to our Catholic experience). We asked for a 20-30 minute tour, which wasn't the full shebang, but was enough for us. The nave of the church has the most beautiful stained glass. The ceiling vaults are impressive as well. This is not something you see every day, and the family felt appropriately awed, even the very young children. Our visit also included a quick stop in the chapel where nuns have been praying without interruption since the late 1800s, where we were invited to sit quietly and offer a prayer of our own. Afterwards we were taken through a small gift shop, with religious and handmade items for sale. We opted to give a small donation for upkeep of the convent, andw we were on our way. I would suggest this stop to anyone interested in religion, architecture and history. We were glad we went!

We took a tour of the FSPA chapel when we were in Lacrosse. The sisters gave a tour and history. It was beautiful and definitely worth some time to take a look at. Their faith was inspiring!

Come pray in a chapel that is over 100 years old. Beautiful- one thinks they are in Europe. Check tour times before coming.

My family and I went for a ride one rainy Sunday and decided to take a tour of St Rose of Viterbo Church. A very nice and informational sister came and gave us a tour of the grounds and church. She showed us all the beautiful statues and explained the different areas. They only give tours for a few hours each day so call ahead. It is free to the public

The church itself has high vaulted ceilings ornately decorated. The concrete has been finished in such a way as to make it appear as marble. The alter is made of marble. The contrast between the gray marble and the gold overlay is eye-catching. The stain glass widows are amongst the best quality in the world. They were made before WWII and are still holding their color quite well. The place is indeed a sanctuary in the middle of the city. The nuns are extremely nice and are quite happy to show off their convent.

The architecture here is amazing and the sisters are extremely proud of their efforts. It's worth a visit if you happen to come in the colder months. If you're lucky, you might get to hear a performance from a visiting choir.

We were in La Crosse and took a trolley tour and along the way our attention was drawn to this convent. We were told by the expert guide that they give free tours. So once we completed our trolley tour we headed to the convent. We were greeted and told to wait in an impeccably clean waiting area. Soon our amiable guide came to meet us. She's a sister who actually lives at the convent. She showed us some beautiful pictures and gave us a short history of the place. Then she took us into the church and then into the chapel. It was a beautiful experience. Whether you are Catholic or not, you are sure to appreciate this tour.

Is it possible to use this location for a marriage ceremony?
If yes what are the requirements and or restrictions?

The two receptionists are lovely and I think would be glad to walk you through the process if it is available. They are the Franciscan order of the Catholic church so I believe you would need to be Catholic.

Mary of the Angels Chapel
The interior of the chapel is an architectural and artistic treasure. It is Romanesque in style, with Corinthian pillars and windows of Bavarian stained glass. Altars of Italian marble are decorated with gold bronze, onyx pillars, and inlaid mosaics of Venetian glass and mother of pearl. Visitors will receive a guided tour which highlights the unique features of this exquisite chapel.
