There were for 4 of us ladies...cousins on a reunion trip and we were so excited to go on one of the cruises. We ended up going on the Pizza one because all of the others sold out - I recommend booking it online as soon as you see it because they do fill up quickly. The staff in the shop/ticket area as well as on the boat we wonderful. I will say that for a beer and pizza cruise it was pretty much what you would expect. It is not the sightseeing cruise so there will not be any commentary but that is what you expect on a 'cocktail' type of cruise. The views were wonderful and it allowed us time to enjoy each other and talk. Beer and non-alcoholic drinks were plenty. The only thing I would say regarding the drinks is that staff did not come around very often so you did have to wait a little longer than you would hope. The pizza, while it was Dominoes, was fine...I am not certain that there was enough, they probably could have had more so that people could have more than 2 pizzas but otherwise it was fine. It is family, group and ADA friendly.

Very disappointed! They advertise that the Saturday night dinner cruise will take you through Lock and Dam No. 7 and they DO NOT! The staff explained that there have been problems with right-of-way issues with the railroad leading to delays. That’s all well and good, but then TAKE THAT OFF THE WEBSITE as it’s the main reason we went. Otherwise it’s a tour up to the dam and back, at crowded tables, food was ok, live music was ok, but for $230 for a family of four, I would have rather skipped it.

Hello, Deb!
We are so sorry we were not able to go through the lock and dam on Saturday night. The Coast Guard regulates that all tow boats have the right away, and we unfortunately cannot predict when tow boats are locking through. It can take a tow boat up to four hours to lock through depending on how many barges there are. We are at the mercy of the river traffic, the lock and dam workers, and the river conditions to get through. We do try, on each and every Saturday Dinner Cruise to lock through river conditions permitting.
We hope you were able to enjoy the meal, the musician, and the sights along the way. We are truly sorry to disappoint, and hope you'll consider rejoining us for another cruise in the future.
Best,
LQ Staff

Eight of us had booked the Saturday night dinner cruise which was perfect as the tables are all for eight people. It is nobody's fault that it rained throughout the entire 2-1/2 hours so we didn't see much other than rain and boats out on the water in spite of the weather. A man sings throughout the entire cruise so there is no narrative. We did wait a long long time for our cocktails. The meal is served buffet style. A man is cutting the prime rib, he just put a pile of fat on my plate so couldn't eat any. The chicken breast was delicious, so were the carrots. I didn't like the mashed potatoes as there was some seasoning in them I didn't care for but some people liked them very much. The carrot cake we had for dessert was delicious. We had a good time, as enjoy the group we were with. The cruise was 100% booked.

Tell people from the start this is a paid tour and maybe people really want to hear it so keep your voices down. These were women from some business. Didnt hear any af the guide cuz they blabbed during the entire tour.need speakers toward the back of the boat.
Did not enjoy this and would never recommend it.

It was a beautiful day to be on the river. The boat was clean, food was OK the service was excellent. The only downside was our tour guide who was supposed to share the history never shared anything.
He was asked several times and he said no because we were a private group with our own speaker. Which was not true

We took the Saturday night cruise with the prime rib/chicken dinner. We were upper deck and were a little concerned about the weather. A sweatshirt or long sleeves was great as the sun came out towards evening and it was a beautiful evening. The dinner was delicious. We actually enjoyed being on the upper deck even if there was a breeze as the downstairs was very full and more noisy with so many people and the upper deck had lots of space and the Mississippi river views were spectacular. Would totally recommend this and would consider doing it again if we are in the area.

We have been on the La Crosse Queen multiple times. Our most recent trip was with a group of out-of-town guests on a Saturday afternoon. The ride took about two hours and provides a leisurely view of the Mississippi and surrounding shores. The Queen provides a guided narration for the trip. There are snacks and beverages available on the boat. There are accessible restrooms. You can sit outside on the lower or upper deck. You can also sit inside protected from the sun and wind with glass window views.

The sightseeing cruise made our Lacrosse stay so enjoyable. We took the 11 am morning cruise and the tour host was so knowledgeable providing historic information about the river and area. Our entire family loved staying on the upper level through most of the cruise for the scenery, but you can freely go to the lower level for snacks, restrooms or to get out of the sun for A/C comfort. The paddle wheel was fun to watch.
We were pleased to find out they are very safety conscious regarding COVID. They clean and sanitize the entire boat well. We were on a boat that holds many more people but they keep the capacity to 65-people.

A few days ago my wife and I took our second cruise on the Queen. Our experience was ruined by a large group of people who arrived very late to the already crowded cruise. Rather than instruct the group to find seats on the lower deck, the crew simply let them roam around the top deck, where seats were already filled. The group stood all along the outside railings, blocking the views of people who were already seated. A child in the group sat on a box behind me with her toes digging into my back. We heard many comments about the group and their lack of consideration from seated passengers, and some left the top deck out of frustration. The group was thoughtless and inconsiderate of others, but the fault lies with the company for allowing it to happen. I recommend that visitors avoid the cruise until the company no longer allows a free-for-all on the top deck.

This was our first stop on our trip to La Crosse. The trip did not include any meal; we simply did the sightseeing trip. It started off a little slow, but as we meandered up river is became more interesting. We got stopped by a train at the swing bridge. After waiting for it to cross, we traveled further up river. The trip was nicely narrated by a college student worker. Turning around at the I-90 bridge, we made our way back. We were stopped by another train, but we got to go through the swing bridge once more. On our return trip, we also passed a fully loaded barge which was neat to see. The trip took a bit over 2 hours. Not a fast paced adventure, but it is a relaxing way to see the river and hear about some of the history of the area.

We will be in La Crosse 20-22 of August. I see that there will not be a dining cruise those days. I have a small group just to sightsee on the La Crosse Queen. 3 Seniors, 3 adults anf 3 kids (6, 2, 7 mo.). What would be my cost?

I don't know how the dinner is but the brunch was very poor quality food, and also very tight spaces at the tables... so my recommendation is just do the
cruise and not the food... maybe eat a a nice restaurant.

Looking for some info on the Saturday 3:30pm pizza cruise....is the pizza served in the dining area (similar style to the dinner cruise) or are guests free to roam between decks throughout the cruise and eat at their leisure?

I would like to know if this tour is available around the 9th or 10th of October, and if so, how much is the ticket price for a 60 year old.
Written August 27, 2015
The senior rate is given at aged 62; $14.50 for sightseeing cruise (1 1/2 hours), $18.25 for the Pizza Cruise (all you can drink beer and soda!), $33.95 for the Friday Night Dinner Cruise, $42.95 for the Saturday dinner cruise, $28.95 for the Sunday's Brunch Cruise, and $35.95 for a three hour cruise with a meal.
We took the 1 /1/2 hour tour and enjoyed ourselves. The tour guide was very informative and helpful with our questions. No matter which tour you take, we're sure you'll enjoy it. A ride on the Mississippi is always fun!
