Wind your way up the curvy road with breathtaking views everywhere you look! At the top is a large parking area and a nice walk to the overlook. All handicap accessible. Look at 3 states and see where 3 Rivers meet! A trip you will...More
Only if you live in La Crosse! Hairpin turns, blind driveways all are part of the fun drive to the top of the bluff. A veterans memorial and an INCREDIBLE view of the Mississippi River valley and the city of La Crosse. The history of...More
Didn’t really get it. I think i made it to the spot? Looked like lots of trails for hiking. The surrounding area is beautiful all by itself. The place i parked did have a nice station to put air in bike tires and wrenches if...More
Great spot to see, any time of year-although, not sure if the road is open all year round. Winding road up to the top, but a good road, worth the drive up, you see many vantage points of the city below.

We drove up to the top and parked in the lot. Then there is a gradual hike up to the overlook area. I would say that with the snow and ice we have been experiencing, it would require a good pair of winter boots.

Hi, you can drive right to the car park at the top and walk on the flat to the edge of the bluff that overlooks the town. There are toilets there, but they were closed when we visited in March. No doubt they are open in the summer season.
My husband and I are planning a 4 day mini vacation to LaCrosse for our anniversary in May 2015.We have plans to visit Riverside Park, take a Queen Cruise and spend some time at Grandad bluff. Would like to also find a nice spa for a couples massage. Any advice on good places? Also any thing else we should check out while we're in town?

I personally use Metropolitan Salon, but Sue Kolve's in Onalaska is good too. The weather should be beautiful, so think about just driving up or down the Great River Road, lots of great scenery. You could also go over the bridge to La Crescent and drive the Apple Blossom Scenic Drive as well.
