The road up the bluff is beautiful, twisty and fun. The view from the top is breathtaking. Fun to look around at the different landscape and unique buildings of La Crosse. Take a picnic lunch or throw a ball around while you are there!

Lovely views that really give you a sense of scale of the Mississippi River valley at this latitude north. Especially nice if you have been driving the river road on the Wisconsin side from Hudson (Twin Cities area) south, and plan to continue on down to Prairie du Chien, WI, where the large Wisconsin River joins the Mississippi.

My wife and I were looking for a relaxing activity on a beautiful day. We found it on Grandads Bluff. The ride up was not to far and not too short. The view of the city Es amazing and the opportunity to hike the ridge was tempting , but we resisted this time. There's a shelter at the top that... More

This setting gives you a panoramic view of the city of La Crosse and the states of Wisconsin,Minnesota and Iowa. We have visited many times. but find early fall is a best time to go. You will see the spectacular foliage and the cooler crisp air is refreshing as you walk to the end of the lookout. A must see... More

A short drive from the center of the city gets you to an amazing city park which spectacular views of the entire area and the Mississippi. Walking, biking trails, a covered area for group singalongs, meetings, weddings, it's worth the walk or a gorgeous drive through wooded and colorful areas.

Love the view. Well worth the short trip. Many people can enjoy this natural setting at the same time. The view is well worth it. You can even hike.

This is well worth the drive! The views are breathtaking and they provide a nice history through historic markers. I think it would be amazing in the fall and might just make the 2 and 1/2 hour drive from the Twin Cities to take it in.

Travel to the visitor's center at the top of Grandad Bluff. Get a better feel for the layout of the LaCrosse from a bird's eye view. Bring your camera!

A good way to spend 20 minutes. Pretty drive up. Awesome views. Nice explanatory signs. Sadly, a cloudy day. Want to return on a clear sunny day.
