About
Thousands of plants bring the seasons to life at the Botanical Gardens, with colorful and fragrant displays laid out in 12 formal gardens. Explore a rose garden, peony garden and daylily garden; stroll under blossoming crabapples; and enjoy the view while having a light lunch in the cafe or a special holiday brunch in the Garden Room. Boerner Botanical Gardens is located just 15 minutes outside of Milwaukee in the Village of Hales Corners. Visit throughout the year to see the different gardens in bloom.

Enjoyed the bulb garden at front entrance. Also liked cottage buildings. However, I was surprised to discover that Mitchell Conservatory (The Domes) is better for those seeking adventure and scenery. It probably took me no more than 30 minutes to tour Boerner Botanical Gardens. I probably will not be coming back unless they are planning on expanding the grounds. Very disappointed.

We went there for Winter Wonders in Dec 2021, actually not much to see, you can drive through slowly and finish it within 30 min, I think it's not worth $20 or $25, if half price will be better. not much people go there, just a few cars we see even in a holiday night.

Looking for a place to take a nice walk and see some things we usually don't see in our walks around our city parks, we chose to go to Boerner even though we knew it was the end of the season and not everything would be in bloom. Still, it was quite beautiful and interesting to see how they put their beds to sleep and prepare for winter. The disappearing creek was still running and it's a great place to explore on both sides, seeking out where the water comes from and where it goes, walking among some very unusual trees with copper-colored peeling bark. There were very few people there, so it seemed like we mostly had the place all to ourselves. We got to sit on a few pretty benches and just soak up the scenery in peace. I wondered where the bees were, they must have bees nearby to pollinate all these plants, and sure enough, right at the end of our journey, we found the beehives. All in all, a very pleasant late afternoon walk. Highly recommend. It's not the garden at Versailles, but it's definitely a Four Star experience.

There are a lot of different pants and trees. It is very well kept up there. Most plants are marked as to what they are.

A very nice drive through Holiday light show in the gardens. A car load can drive through for $25.00. Headlights are off and speed is about 10 MPH. well worth the price of admision.

China Lights has been the best outdoor night adventure to indulge in when in Wisconsin.

The visual experience in the midst of the cool & bright starry night compares almost to a trip to Disneyland at a fraction of the price.

The presentation is so breathtaking as imagining it as a garden in the morning seems like a dream.

Absolutely an excellent way to impress guests or equally a date.

Wear good walking shoes though and prepare for the mud.

For the fourth year a great event
Looking forward to next year now. They changed it up very well. Acts on the stages were exceptional. Face changer always a hit.

Went with wife, sister in law and two friends, all seniors. No teenager actually. Had difficulty finding the place. Saw an man loading golf equipment in his car in a parking lot. Asked him for directions. Very nice guy, a veteran. Went out of his way to lead us there.
Couldn’t understand why many complained of parking when there were slots aplenty. Went to entrance and there we found out why - it was closed! Turns out they’re not open on Mondays! Consolation is we were still able to get in as no one was guarding the gate. So we had a free tour and saw the entire showcase, albeit minus the lights. Hence minus delights.
Btw, purchase voucher from Groupon. It’s cheaper. $9 for seniors (60 above) as against &12, $19 for non seniors as against $20 or more I think. We were refunded by Groupon for the unused vouchers. Very nice people at Groupon.

We generally enjoy China Lights as a yearly outing.
This year however, the parking situation was frustrating to say the least!!!!! We asked one worker where more parking was, and he insisted that we go back to a parking area that was very full. We tried to explain, but he got in his truck and took off.
The space set aside for parking was very limited. The shuttle service was a fiasco. One had to wait forever for the shuttle.
If you chose to walk rather than wait for the shuttle,(they had more than one, but only one was used)the distance was significant. Maybe better planning needs to be done.
The China Lights were outstanding. Liked the way it seemed to be spread out more this year. Great show!!!!!

We attended a bonsai; beginners workshop this past Sunday. The group consisted of club members/instructors and about 20 participants. We were welcomed and were given trees to work on. Our instructor was excellent. Patient and knowledgeable. It was a very interesting morning. Well worth the price of admission.
