We took a little tour of the facility, now used for small concerts seasonally. We could just imagine putting on community theater or attending in years gone by. Still a lovely grand theater and being kept in shape by local volunteers.

This historic venue is the perfect place to hear a new or old favorite musician. This small, intimate setting is a favorite of musicians. We have seen Michael Johnson, Janis Ian and most recently Judy Collins there. It's like having a performance in your living room though with better acoustics. Tickets go fast for nationally known performers so watch the schedule and act quickly. There is a bar on site. You can easily dine at one of the downtown Green Lake restaurants before or after the concert. Free street parking is available.

We were in Green Lake for the first time last week to hear our son perform at Thrasher Opera House. Wow! What a gem to have! The acoustics were wonderful and the lineup for future shows is fantastic! The town is so lucky to have this wonderful venue!

This facility will not stop people from texting or holding up their phones to take photos or to record the performance. It was impossible to enjoy the performance with lighted screens popping up in from of you every 10-15 seconds.

They pull the curtains to prevent light from the outside but do nothing about the flashing lights insides. The steady light from outside would be better as you could adjust to that.

I'll never to go back. And I advise you not to either. You will not enjoy the experience.

Thank you for your review. We share your frustration when some people's actions impinge upon others' ability to enjoy a concert. We will make more of an effort to remind patrons through announcements, policies, and signage, that their cell phone use can be disruptive, and encourage them to put their phones away and be 'in the moment' with the performers and the rest of the audience and enjoy the uniqueness of a live concert.

We enjoyed a wonderful concert of Irish music. Great venue. Small venue so not a bad seat. Irish dancing lessons were given before the concert. Drinks were available at a small bar.

Tucked into the downtown of Green Lake The Thrasher sets. Taken great care of by the community, patrons, benefactors and entertainment lovers. The taste of shows is extraordinary. Names you might see in a major market. JD Southern, The subdudes, David Lindley and many of the like and beyond. The facility holds several hundred and The seating is general admission. Acoustic are good. Stage is intimate and accessible.
They have a full bar and you can enjoy a glass of (even red) wine as you enjoy the show. The aprons are educated and respectful of artist and fans alike. They behave.

Go early and enjoy a good meal or cocktails in anyone or more eating places.
The season is year round and you can look online to see what fancy's you.

Thrasher's is such a great place to see live music. The room is small enough that the performers open up to the audience and I find their personal narrative to be as enjoyable as the music. There is a problem, though; my wife and I never want to see live music anywhere else, because the Thrasher has spoiled us.

Check this great place out. There isn't a bad seat in the house and you will not be sorry.

I had looked it up on line before hand. Traveled 6 hours to hear Willy Porter. I was impressed with the venue. The acoustics are great. A volunteer at the opera house was good at giving us a tour of where everything was located and eager to help us get settled in and feeling comfortable. So glad to see these historical landmarks still around and this is a fine example of a "Keeper"! I love small venues. I have seen Willy in even smaller venues! The sound guy was exceptional, I know as my son is a Sound engineer! I appreciate good mixing!

We visited the Thrasher Opera House for the first time on a cold February evening to see Peter Yarrow. The building itself is beautiful in its attention to detail and authenticity. It is easy to imagine the performances of yesteryear happening here. With only 200 seats, every seat is close to the stage and the performance. Peter (and son) were great and did not disappoint. We will be back!

We came for concert. It was open seating, but anywhere you would have great view. Chairs are very comfortable.
