The experience at the GBBG has to rank among the very best - an impressive feat for an institution that’s only 25 years old! An impressive dwarf conifer collection and a new $13M children’s garden.Visited July 2024Traveled soloWritten July 26, 2024
- DadzMinneapolis, Minnesota58 contributionsBest public garden we have ever visitedMy wife and I are avid gardeners and this is the best public garden we have ever visited. The layout was spectacular. There were no weeds. Everything was dead headed and there was a lot in bloom. If you like gardens, I would highly recommend this one.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 1, 2024

The gardens are exceptional no matter the season. Everything is labeled; areas are defined. Staff is wonderful. All walkways are easy to walk with gentle slopes. If you are lucky enough to attend a concert in the garden… it is such an unforgettable experience. The holiday lights are a mesmerizing must. Green Bay is so lucky to have such a stunning venue of beauty. Thank you!

While my wife and I had visited the New Zoo earlier in the day and plenty planned the next day, we were looking for something to do in the late afternoon early evening. Many of the local attractions closed at 5 but we came upon the Botanical Gardens which was open till 6:30 so we had a little over 2 hours to spend there. It was raining for a bit at first but cleared up enough for us to enjoy it. Plenty of beautiful flowers along with large sculptures at this medium sized garden with plenty of benches and paths to enjoy.

What a beautiful hidden destination in Green Bay! We were able to enjoy a sunny warm day exploring these gardens. They were extremely well manicured and discreetly labeled so you could learn about the plants as you enjoyed their beauty. There are venues within the premises for wedding ceremonies, amphitheater shows and performances. A gift shop and information desk round out the attraction. Plenty of parking and reasonably priced.

We have been to the Botanical Gardens before at Christmas yet they get more beautiful each year. They keep adding more displays and more features. Great place for kids, or adults who are kids at heart or those that just enjoy Christmas Lights. The warming barrel is a perfect tough. The horse and buggy is great for those who can not walk the entire path. Nice to see they cater to those that can not or choose not to walk the entire way.
We have not been there for a couple of years. We noticed they have a beverage area with warm drinks, kids drinks and adult beverage. This vent keeps growing. So glad to see.

The gardens were so beautiful with the flowers of Spring, lawn decor & added decor. At arrival there were motorized carts available but we did not take advantage of them. Soon we discovered the hills were steep, paths were winding & since we have difficulty walking we needed the carts. Once along the paths we were so impressed that we just continued. Next time we will take the scooter so we old folks can enjoy it fully.

This was my first visit since the botanical gardens opened about 26-27 years ago. As a gardener, I was stunned by the evolution of the gardens and the absolute beauty.
Although I live an hour from Green Bay, life just got too busy with family and job responsibilities. But now I know I will revisit again and again in all seasons.
The variety, the layout, the visual interest - everything is perfect.
I am not surprised, because many years ago, the executive director was a coworker of mine. She has the smarts, the savvy, the community knowledge and the personality required to make a success of anything she tackles!

I cannot believe I waited this long to visit! So beautiful, so peaceful, huge gardens- many hidden areas. Flowers of every kind and displayed creatively and so beautiful. Children’s area is incredible as well! If I lived nearby I would be a member and if I had younger children, I’d bring them all the time. Thank you for sharing this beautiful spot with all of us!

How are the butterflies this year?
Written August 8, 2019
The percentage of each butterfly species varies throughout the summer to match the population outside. It is a very enjoyable exhibit for guests of all ages.

Yes I believe it's 10.00 but well worth it. It's simply amazing.

Is it free to go there and take photos, including our own photographer?
Written August 8, 2017
I believe you would each need to pay the entrance fee. I would call in advance, to discuss with them, if you are bringing a professional photographer. I believe they have paperwork and a fee charged for use of a professional photographer. But, double check with them ahead of time.

Admission depends on the event. Check website for pricing and there is no cafe on site. Several places to dine within 2-4 blocks down main thoroughfare, W. Mason Street, also within 1-2 Mike's on Military Avenue.
