There is a guided tour with tickets for watch tower/dungeons (in Polish) which is the cheapest option (PLN 80, 2 adults/2 kids).

Although Renaissance not my favourite style, it is a very pleasant castle with an interesting history. The castle was first wooden until a Krasicznski, who was the Polish King's favourite and a patron of the arts, converted it into stone. The castle passed into the hands of a nephew who was a drunkard and stood empty for some time.

It was then bought by the Sapiecha family - Lithuanian nobles who fell out with the Czar. They owned a brick factory - their bricks were used in the castle - a distillery and a brewery. A daughter bacame Queen of Belgium and they acquired a coffee plantation in the Congo. In the grounds are some oak trees planted for the children.

With the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact the owner took his possessions to Krakow. The private Renaissance chapel is the 2nd best one in Poland despite some looting by Russian soldiers (to head height), who also shot at the angels because they were smiling.

Check out the very good cafe for its excellent cakes and walk 3 times round the English oak and make a wish :)

The WWII owner tried to move back at the end of WWII but died from his fatal war wound. Adam Sapiecha became a renowned Cardinal who ordained John Paul II. The Polish government acquired the castle and have restored it. They gave the final owner farmland on which he grew willows for biomass, but he still tried to reclaim it for his family.

A park rather for fans of undeveloped surroundings. It has its charm, although I'm sure it was not a deliberate decision. Interestingly, the investments (in the form of a new, small playground for children) have appeared. Kids say thanks!

The castle itself is quite pleasant, provided that one does not want to explore the enormous amount of exhibits inside - because there are hardly any exhibits. When is it worth considering on your trip through Poland? When it is on the way, when you are in an immediate need of a wedding (it seems to be the ultimate wedding location) or when you want to stay in it for a night. When it does not make much sense? When it's raining (and you're not hosting a mud-skating competition).

Nice white castle with with four towers in different style. The castle is surrounded by a beautiful park and lake. There are plenty of benches in the park so it's a great place for walking and relaxing. This place is definatly number one in Kraciczyn.

This place is off the beaten path but a gem among the locals. Many weddings happen here and many locals are brought here for the stories. Rooms hidden and prevented from plunder and burial crypts are just some stories of this place. Details in the architecture tell the history and stories. The grounds are under renovations and some rooms are off limits. The private chapel is amazing and my pictures can’t capture the amazing details

Beautiful castle, very nice rooms, very comfortable. It was peaceful here and a good place to spend a night during a busy trip. There is a pleasant natural area around the castle. We had to catch a train early before breakfast so they packed us a good meal to carry on the train. This really saved us because we didn't really have any opportunities to buy food on the train or station. We strongly recommend!!

We spent one night in this castle (Sunday) and it was very quiet. It was so much fun to get to explore the entire courtyard and gardens with few people around!! Rooms in castle were nice and comfortable. Comfortable beds and big towels!! Breakfast was very European but had enough variety for every taste.

We went there with a friend who doesn't speak Polish so I translated what the guide was saying. It was a lovely tour, the guide was competent and funny, the place remarkable. It bears a piece of sad, Polish history but it's worth it. The neighbourhood is quiet and the park huge so it's amazing for couples! So romantic!
They have a café which serves coffee, cakes and other desserts, they also have a real restaurant.

We were told that this was a small scale castle compared to Lancut castle the previous day. It was a thrill to see the restored castle & to walk round with a professional guide who was excellent & very knowledgable. There were two large school groups being escorted but as there were six of us they gave us our own guide. The outside looks Italianate with its four different towers/turrets which are ornate & all different. Once inside there is a huge courtyard with engravings of kings & Queens & saints. The places for rifles & security have been preserved in the sympathetic renovation. There is a magnificent chapel which is rented out for weddings for 2,000 zlotys. The doors have the pelicans feeding their young with their own blood: Catholic symbolism & reminded me of The Liver building. The crypt was sad as seven of the eight babies died early( infections. Diseases & marriage of cousins.) There is a Hotel , restaurant & coffee bar with excellent cheesecake (4 zlotys a portion). There is no furniture apart from a study as it was looted &:or burned for firewood by soldiers...,
It is approximately 180 miles from Cracow. Highly recommended. It is a joy!
