This is a great place to pass a few hours with young children. The staff are very welcoming and friendly! There is a very happy and healthy fox and raccoons as you enter - my little girl particularly enjoyed feeding the baby goats and free roaming ducks! The owner was particularly friendly and knowledgeable and even took the children into the meerkat enclosure to have photos taken. There are parrots there that can say lots of phrases and laugh (very entertaining). There are lots of different owls and Hawks to look at aswel as other animals - very fun day out and highly recommend

Have made a number of visits to the centre over the last 8 months. There has been amazing progress , New enclosures and new attractions. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. The volunteers are amazing and so approachable. Ask a question and you will receive the answer There is even a children's Club on a Saturday. Look forward to seeing the end result, when all the plans have been completed. Well worth a visit forces a couple of hours. Go look yourself, you won't be disappointed.

The centre is a work in progress at the moment but where else would you see so many owls and birds of prey so close up. Add to that a number of small mammals and reptiles seemingly contented.
The hilarious parrot is worth a visit. There is also a three legged fox which seems happy and enjoying being there.
Work is being carried by a number of volunteers and this will be a wonderful attraction shortly. Still worth a visit even now.
We all enjoyed it.

I can see why there are signs up saying you can't take photos! I realise there is work going on, but the whole place looks dilapidated and dirty, with building materials and hose pipes causing trip hazards.
Very few signs, and those few there were had the wrong bird name on the flights in a number of cases. Some of the birds seemed very stressed- plucking feathers and pulling on their straps.
The small mammal room (in a grotty shipping container) was grubby and overcrowded, and the goat pen was a seething mass of animals crammed in to a very small area.
The adult raccoon was pacing in its cage on the concrete floor.
My daughter was frightened by the dog, which presumably belong to one of the volunteers, that kept running up to us- it wasn't threatening to an adult but any loose dog is intimidating to a 2 year old.
There was nowhere to wash hands on the way out after contact with the animals.
The only positive was the friendly lady who welcomed us at the entrance and took the money.
I hope it is either rapidly improved or closes, and the birds and animals rehoused somewhere more suitable.

An hour of my life wasted, I have tried to post for the restaurant but can't but if you do visit the Owl Centre make sure you don't go into the restaurant
Popped in to Gardenlands and decided to stay for coffee and a sandwich. We queued for 20 minutes to give our order and then at the table we waited for nearly 45 minutes. We tried to be patient as it was extremely busy. The last straw came when a family who had arrived after us were served before us. My sister spoke to a member of staff who mumbled something about fresh sandwiches before walking off. My sister asked to speak to the manager but was told that he/she was too busy. She explained the problem and they said they would sort it but time was pressing and eventually we decided on a refund just as three tired looking sandwiches were brought into view. It was explained that they had run out of egg mayonnaise and were having to make fresh, we suggested it might have been a good idea to have told us and give us the option of choosing something that was available. We did have apologies and a full refund which was appreciated but we shall not be going back for any reason again.

Being a keen amateur photographer, especially of animals and wildlife, i'm always on the look out for new places to visit. I go on first impressions and as I walked through the gate didn't like what I saw and walked straight back out. Not allowed to take photos, pretty much the first thing I saw was what looked like a domestic rabbit lying in an enclosure, I thought just asleep but looking further a Polecat and the rabbit was obviously it's lunch. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

My mom and l visited here today and had such a lovely time. We weren't expecting to see so many different animals and it was good to see them in such a roomy, natural environment. The meerkats were so cute but then again so were the ducks, rabbits, raccoons, geese, sheep, hens, cockerills, parrots, owls, falcon, budgies etc! The staff are very friendly and helpful and we got to see a bird display which was a bonus. It was so nice to see children have the opportunity to meet animals in such a friendly environment and get to feed them. The entrance fee is very reasonable and l understand they are adding new animals soon. I would highly recommend, it is well worth a visit, especially for small children.

The centre is still being worked on. There were lots of friendly staff who were more than happy to stop work and let our grandson pet the rabbits and a beautiful little skunk by the name of Fifi.
We spoke with a gentleman who was carrying a snake,(he turned out to be the owner Karl Law) he explained that the centre is constantly being improved and expanded for the birds of pray and the lovely farm animals.
We had a great afternoon and will be visiting again soon with our other grand children.
