Had an amazing experience with Door County Adventure Rafting. My family and I did the tour out of Bailey's Harbor. Capt. Matt did a great job of not only showing us multiple wrecks in smooth water, but also giving a great history of the area. He is a very gifted historian for being a young man. Being on the raft allowed for things to move at a faster clip, which was exciting for my 11 and 9 year old children. I would highly recommend for someone looking to learn more about the area or just looking for a great time out on the water.

A group of 9 of us took the Ellison Bay/Death’s Door tour and it was awesome! Captain Matt was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. He was an excellent captain and we felt safe the entire time. He kept everyone entertained with music, stories and cool facts about the area and did a great job with all the random questions we had. The Death’s Door tour was amazing- including a few remote islands that very few people get to see. Also, we saw a couple shipwreck sites that were fascinating as well. We had kids of 4,6,8 and 11 and the 3 olders did great and wanted to go again. The 4 year old was hesitant but warmed up to it quickly. If you’re on the fence, take the plunge! He offers other tours as well, so check the website for real-time availability.

Nothing but positives!
+ Only a few people on boat, lots of space & open air, not a crowd like the other tour boats we briefly considered. Perfect for germophobes in the age of COVID.
+ Fast-paced, covered a lot of ground, saw a lot of things in a short period of time. I’ve never been on the other Door County tour boats, but have to imagine they would have only seen a fraction of what we saw in the 2 hour time.
+ It was exciting enough to keep a 3 year old happy, in her seat, giggling at the occasional sprays of water, and sea gulls overhead checking us out. On any other tour, she would have been bored within a few minutes and the rest of the trip would have been unenjoyable.
+ Great views of shipwrecks. Circling the boat made the water still and easy to see what was underwater.
+ Perfect music.
+ Was able to get up close to stuff.
+ Beautiful scenery.
+ Always moving = didn’t get sea sick.
+ Affordable and easy to book.
+ Matt knew A LOT about the local history, geography, marine navigation, and shipwrecks. Stories were so interesting.
+ At the end, Matt took the time to recommend books and a website for my older kid who became very interested in learning about shipwrecks on this vacation.

We fell in love with Door County, plan to return in the next year or two, and will DEFINITELY book another tour with Door County Adventure Rafting!

This was our second tour with Door County Adventure Rafting and it won’t be our last! We wanted to enjoy the water and weather that summer in Door County offers while staying socially distanced and safe. We booked a private tour. As always, it was informative and fun. Kudos again to Door County Adventure Rafting! We highly recommend it!

We’ve taken many touring boat rides. We took the cave tour and it was great! Matt is a native of Door County and is a very knowledgeable “tour guide” through the waters of Lake Michigan, the coast line, sunken shipwrecks and the caves along the coastline south of Baileys Harbor. Riding in the rubber side, hard bottom boat was fun and felt very safe and dry. Matt got us in close under several caves and turned on the speed and great music for the ride to and from the caves. Very exhilarating! Definitely recommend this ride for all age groups if you want to be out for 2 hours.

I’m so glad I called! I tried to book online the cave point tour which is only offered at 9am due to lake conditions later in the day. They were able to accommodate us even though it looked like there were not enough spots online. Our boat had small kids, teenagers, and two senior ccanes. Captain Matt made sure everyone had a great trip from the smallest one up to the grandparents. I want his soundtrack! The songs matched the mood perfectly! I’d tell you more but some delights are best when they’re a bit of a surprise. He said top speed was about 30 MPH… any faster and we wouldn’t hear the music 🤣. This was hands down the best way to view the caves and after a sleepy relaxing weekend all over DC this is a very HIGH ENERGY way to start your day! Thanks for the memories Captain Matt.

We took the Death’s Door tour. Our tour guide, Matt, provided a good mix of history lessons, local tales and notable sites. He also provided fun with classic rock music to “jam to” while flying across the lake and “testing the steering” with some fun high speed circles.

He took COVID precautions and social distancing seriously. The tour was an enjoyable relaxing way to spend the afternoon.

I booked this boat tour to see lighthouses, islands and shipwrecks. I didn't realize the company name was Adventure Rafting until sometime after I booked it. I'm glad I didn't read the description on their Facebook page, where it mentions "high speed" until just now (that detail wasn't mentioned on the website). I'm glad I didn't know, because otherwise I probably wouldn't have gotten it. IT WAS AMAZING!! I was so freaked out at first, when Captain Matt started speeding and turning the boat, but soon I started enjoying it a lot, and so did the boys. Captain Matt was great, and very knowledgeable. It was an awesome experience and would love to do it again. ❤😃

Matt is an awesomely entertaining and knowledgeable boat captain, raft was fast and fun, cramming in more scenery and stops into a 90-min Death's Door tour than you can get on a big slow boat. Not too rough or scary for anyone less fragile than a 90-yr-old grandma, and there's probably a few of them that would take exception to that generalization, saying they enjoyed the trip, too. Matt grew up here, knows the area well, has great advice about hiking nearby, and has excellent people skills. Well probably take another trip with him bringing the relatives.

My husband and two kids went on the Death's Door tour. It was my kids' favorite part of Door county. We zoomed around the area, stopping to learn about shipwrecks and lighthouses along the way. Believe them when they tell you to bring a jacket! The temp was in the upper 80's and within 30 seconds of hitting Lake Michigan it dropped to the 60's. We also got wet! Fun and informative.
