I chose this tour because I like excitement and this trip fulfilled the bill. Matt takes you out on speedy ride around Lake Michigan in his little neck of the world- upper Peninsula Door County. We saw lighthouses , Pilot Island and Plum Island. Matt knows lots of historical facts and past stories of who lived and served on the... More

Matt told interesting stories of Plum & Pilot Island, got up close to the face of the rocks against the cliffs and pointed out ancient hieroglyphics left from the native americans that lived their a 100years ago. Told and showed us where skeletons of sunken ships lay and played upbeat lively music throughout the tour. Had a great time.

I've legit been on every tour offered in Door County since I was 13. I used to hate them, and I mean hate them. They are ridiculously boring, but I go because everyone wants to go...repeatedly. This time, I was celebrating my anniversary with my husband...we are in our early 30s, so we weren't interested in the same old tour.... More

What a fun and exhilarating way to tour Door County from the water. Matt was a hospitable and informative captain. The music added to our fun. Good for all ages.

Capt Matt was gracious and accommodating. We had six humans and two dogs on our tour, both groups had a blast. Matt is full of local history, personalizing your on the water journey. He gets you up close to the islands and caves of DC. Also got to see a couple of sunken boats during the adventure. Would recommend this... More

Seeing Door County from the water was truly an eye-opening experience. We left from Ellison Bay and went on a loop through the Death’s Door passage. The shoreline was amazing, imposing and just plain interesting to see. Not what I expected at all. We turned into passage and learned about lighthouses, navigation aids and the general history of the passage.... More

If you are thinking at all about booking this, do it. Matt is a superb amateur historian who loves Door County and knows what he is talking about. (I'm a professional historian, so I can be pretty critical). I always hesitate to book boat tours with my husband and younger son since they both get seasick easily, but Matt's boat... More

Captain Matt = not your normal everyday boring tour guide. Ha ha, that sums it up nicely. We met Matt at the dock and got an early start with another nice couple. We had 2 adults and 2 children aged 7. We choose to have the kids wear life jackets, though they were not required. The four of us sat... More
