We were on a bus tour & stopped in at
Lautenbach's orchard county farm
You can pick cherry & sample their wine as well, you pick the wine & cider you want to try by marking a paper & the staff supply the five samples. The garden area is lovely to sit in for your tasting, they have a cherry spitting contest to see how far you can spit the pip. They also have an art gallery, plus a gift shop to buy, wine, cider, cherry jam, cherry pies, & cherry chocolates. All in all a nice place to spend time at.

We enjoy traveling "off-season"; but we are aware that in places like Door County, many seasonal options may be unavailable. For example, there are numerous markets throughout the area; most of which are closed in April. Thankfully, this is not one of them.
This large facility is well-maintained; with a large selection of items (edible, drinkable & other) from which to choose (at least one or two of which are cherry related).
The staff are friendly and helpful.
We stopped in twice; leaving with some bakery (cherry, of course), postcards and some treats for our neighbors.
"Off-season" or during, this is a great option to explore.

My kids and I had the best time. We went during apple picking season and made so many memories. The store inside had so many things we wanted to buy, and I sampled wines/ ciders. I highly recomend this place for all ages. They were very good with covid /mask requirements.

We did find a wine we liked - but were disappointed that the tastings were presented in small plastic cups similar to those used to dispense medicine…. Even when we ordered a glass of the wine we liked it was served in a small clear plastic solo cup - not a wine glass. Disappointed…

On our list of things to do. Glad we visited. We came to shop but ended up doing a wine tasting too! It was too cold to pick apples but they do have a nice orchard. It cost $3 to taste 5 wines (just one swig of each :) ). We ended up buying two bottles of wine after the tasting. The place was very charming. Lot of goodies and gifts to shop for. I would definitely recommend!

This is a great stop on your way in or out of Door County.
Very large store plus there is cider and wine tasting.
Check out the cherry trees right next to the parking lot.
I highly recommend grabbing a quart of the cherry apple or juice cherry juice.
Also- bakery items- cherry donuts, cherry strudel bites and sticks. And of course pie!
The gift shop has lot of cute items.

I winessed a staff member interaction with an older women. He told her she needed to put a mask on or leave, just like that. I know it is mandatory, but he was very rude and it was not necessary. The other incident happened to a member of our group. He is a veteran and a staff member told him to put on a mask or leave. He stated that he had a medical condition that allowed him not to wear a mask, which he does. The lady told him then he didn't belong in the store and they had curbside delivery. Oh and if you close at 5:30, upate all your sites that say 6:00pm. People were still arriving after the doors locked as it says 6:00pm on their sites.

We enjoyed a wine tasting and shopping for some local products. Most of the grapes are local varieties or fruit wine. Still something for everyone. Lots of other products to buy. There was also a gallery with artists in the barn. Well worth a look.

Tasty fresh baked cherry pie !! They also have a wide variety range of marmalade, jellies, jams to pick and choose from. For those that prefer “no sugar added” products you have a small section to choose from. Of course there’s plenty of Orchards up and down the peninsula but Lautenbach’s has the best variety and pricing.

Nice little place and great wine tasting. Staff not as friendly as I thought they should be. They kind of gave us our samples and sent us out the door. Didn't give us any feedback on the kinds of wine or not very talkative. But it is still worth the stop for the little gift shop
