After several days of activities in Peninsula Park, we decided to hit the beach. Stories of overcrowded parking lots and wall to wall sunbathers gave us pause, but we went later in the afternoon, and were pleasantly surprised to find the beach area busy but manageable. This is a lovely place, with full amenities - store, bathrooms, food, boat/kayak rentals, picnic tables and a play area. The water was shallow for quite some distance, the sand was soft and the water was clear and fairly warm. Several boats had anchored outside the swim area, and it was postcard-pretty, with heavy wooded areas on either side, and islands off shore. This is really a great place for families because the large amount of shallow water enables people to have enough space to swim and play games without knocking over the little ones who only want to get their feet wet! Try to go early in the day, or later in the afternoon to avoid the crowds.

Nice little beach. No pets allowed but a nice picnic area for pets and lots of shade for them in back row or parking lot. Nice playground, bike, kayak and other rentals too. Little snack shop and camp stores along with newer camp showers make this a great family spot! Gets busy on weekends!

If you are looking for sprawling break like at cave point beach it is not the place. There is close parking and a nice little store. Beach also has a rental shop for lots of water sports. Usually if we rent a boat we make a stop here as well.
Of coarse the water is going to be cold it is a big deal lake/bay. If you want warm water you will need to go to an inland water.
There are tons of friendly people at the beach. Conversations with strangers is easy.
Not sure how sick a great place is number 9. Don't let that shy you away.

Well the weed patches are now in place and it looks just terrible. Used to be a really great view of the harbor, used to be a really great place to lay out in the sun. Not any more. Now we have a weed patch running down the middle of the beach area. UGLY

We love going to this beach when camping at Peninsula, it is pretty big and shallow enough for kids to walk out far safely. The water is usually too could unless it is July and August. It can get crowded on weekends in summer, but still comfortable. Really nice rest rooms and changing areas; also has a good snack bar and convenience store.
It has a big parking lot and a great place to start a bike ride.

I visited this beach over Labor Day weekend which was probably my first mistake. My friend and I were looking for a stretch of sand with clear, shallow water to relax on (which is hard to come by in Wisconsin) and this beach had pretty good reviews and nice quiet looking pictures. Upon getting there, however, we found every inch of sand was packed with people, probably 50% of them being children. There was nothing relaxing here-just lots of children screaming and sand being thrown on you. The sand was muddy and had an overall dirty feel-not surprising with the amount of people all packed in one place. We sat for about 15 minutes and left. I gave it two stars just for the fact that the water did appear to be shallow pretty far out and it was very calm-quite a few people were paddle boarding. Very cold water however, and it was very hot and humid when we were there. This beach could have potential on a quieter weekend-I don't know if it's usually this busy or if it was just because of the holiday. I personally wouldn't go back.

This is a sandy beach with shallow, clear water allowing you to walk out quite a ways. There are rentals available for various water sports. Other larger boats often anchor in the bay which is fun to watch, especially on weekends. There are ample picnic tables, both in and out of the sun. The concession stand serves a variety of treats and offers free wi-fi as well as in their adjacent sheltered area. Several plug-ins are available for recharging. There are showers and restrooms a few steps away. Overall, a relaxing area for all.

This beach is clean with restrooms and showers. You can rent just about any floatie thingy you want! We rented a paddle board and kayak. Had a great time. The bay is a perfect place to paddle board as the water is more calm. There were lots of families there with children. This was on a Monday. We arrived around 11:30am. When we left around 1pm, there were people circling the parking lot looking for a space. My advice is to get there early, especially later in the week and weekend. Peninsula State Park is a great park as well. Nice trails and camping. If you don't have a state park pass there is a $7 fee for a day pass.

Nicolet Bay Beach is located in Wisconsin's Peninsula State Park. So, you must pay to enter. It's a great place to enjoy a day outdoors. The beach is large but popular. So, on a warm, sunny day, get there early with your chairs, beach toys, books, or whatever, and stake out your territory. Bike paths, hiking, take-out food, and bathrooms are available, along with a large, grassy area where you can play volleyball or toss Frizbies. Nicolet Bay Beach is a beautiful place to spend the day!

I'm sorry, I do not know. I would call the Wisconsin state park system and ask.

Noticed picture of you in a rented kayak. Are there sailboats to rent as well?

There are boats for rent at the beach. I haven't seen a sail boat though.
