Great golf course with tricky greens. The pace of play was average and staff members all very helpful and friendly. Only negative feedback I have was its fees to the two of us to play 18 holes with cart.

Wanted to play golf and this course was recommended at the hotel. I was very pleased with the course. It was very green even with the lack of rain in the area. Club house was nice and they paired me with tow other players. Greens were fast and fairways in good shape. I will return to play again. Enjoyed my time on the course.

Golf staff was very flexible in changing our tee times from a rain day to the next....charged a green fee for a 4 star course.... and fun course to play.... but very disappointed in finding that the cups haven’t been changed for at least 5 days. As a golfer that is willing to pay for a premium course.... this was disappointing.

Course was in good condition considering all the rain in the last couple weeks. Course plays fairly easy, with it being pretty open and forgiving. Definitely worth paying a visit for a round even with it being a little overpriced.

We showed up here unannounced at noon on a sunny Thursday, and the starter (and owner/manager?) was able to work us in within 20 minutes - much appreciated! We paid just $52.25 PP for 18 holes with carts, which was a bargain.
This course was in great shape, and offered many challenges, both in its treed and “open” (fescue grass lined) sections.
When you are in this part of Door County, definitely consider this course for a round; you won’t be disappointed!

There are many public courses in Door County, from pitch and putts to a 36 hole layout, but this is the best conditioned course of your choices. Very fair and well designed, it is maintained and groomed while many of the others are a bit “wild”. No views of Green Bay or Lake Michigan, but a very pretty track nonetheless. Only complaint is the practice range. Small bucket is rather expensive and you are hitting into a fairly wild field.

The Orchards is a links style and was in excellent condition when our group played it. Good facilities, friendly & helpful staff, and a very comfortable 19th hole lounge & restaurant. As long as you keep your ball on the fairways you should be ble to end up with a respectable score. The rough, however, is a killer and can really cause your score to shoot upward quickly. Adequate tees to accommodate most everyone's skill level. Definitely one of the best courses in Door County.

We played the back nine, it's not a super challenging course but fun to play. We played after a flood so they made some nice accommodations for that.

The caveat here is I play a lot of golf with my family. We are from Chicago but travel all over and have played a ton of courses from Colorado to Florida. Chicagoland alone is home to over 100 courses and we play some very picturesque challenging courses routinely for less money. The Orchards are close to the house we stay in, and easily the best course at in the area so we always play it.
We had nine players in our group in three back-to-back threesomes; when we made the reservations three days ahead of the visit, the entire morning was still available except for two groups. The pace of play was good...after about five holes the twosome in front of us finally started moving so we were able to spread it out a little and play under four hours. On a Sunday at 8:30am tee time on a public course that's great.
The course itself is not bad, couple of interesting holes especially on the back nine, greens are usually in decent shape. The facilities are average - clubhouse is nice and beer selection not bad. Starter on 1 was personable; clubhouse staff was pleasant Range is basically non-existent; balls as hard as rocks and 20 years old and you are just hitting out to a field.
When my kids were still juniors, we played for years and they never offered junior rates. Nothing like paying full price for a 10-12 year old. I see they now have junior golf rates; maybe I still never got over that. But I think overall I was still dwelling on the $70 "discounted" rate we got. By comparison, we played the Bull at Pinehurst Farms in Sheboygan the day before for $85/pp - night and day difference! We played arguably one of the top 10 courses in Wisconsin for only $15 more. This course is not worth $70/round. We will be back in the future I'm sure; make sure we can find a coupon first!
