We always enjoy stopping here, and our February 2021 trip was no different. The bartender seemed a little tipsy but was super friendly and conversational, and they offer pretty decent products. The Cherry Bluff Infusion is great in old fashioneds!
They weren’t too busy, but with Covid protocols in place they don’t have a ton of room for spirit tastings/drinks right now. Thankfully we didn’t have to wait for a spot. Only “bad” thing I’ll say is you can usually find their products for a few dollars cheaper per bottle at area gas stations or grocery stores.

We had plans to have dinner in Ephraim and since it was unseasonably cool decided to make our way north with stops along the way. Door County Distillery was our first stop.
DC Distillery & DC Winery operate out of the same space. We popped into the winery's outdoor space not realizing the difference. I took the opportunity to do a quick sampling since we were there. From there, we went into the big building where the distillery and winery are housed.
We knew from the website they weren't doing tours, but tastings were available. We popped in and my husband got 6 samples (5+ and you get a free shot glass). The sample store is also the gift shop with a lot of their items and other drink related items. In addition to the big winery patio, there's one off the distillery shop too. I'm not really a whiskey fan, but took a nip of the items my husband selected. Of them all, I probably liked the rye the best. It was significantly milder than the ones he usually drinks, which is why I found it palatable.
The distillery store and the wine patio also offer the option of full cocktails. Even without a tour, it's a fun little stop.

Small distillery but pretty good products. Staff is super friendly and the samples were great!
The limited release maple finished bourbon was a favorite. Door county moonshine a close second! Worth a trip and would recommend stopping in!

It was insanely busy, one server working behind the bar. Not a place to sit and enjoy a flight of what the distillery has to offer. Only one poor soul behind the bar. The wine area was only worse and as you descend the stairs into the oil/fudge tasting area it was like entering the threshold of a hellish circus. If you are looking for a slow time of year to visit Door County, I don't think it exsists. I would recommend skipping the Door County Distillery & Winery. Everything they have to offer can be found at local stores in WI. There are far too many other Wineries, Distilleries & Breweries to experience the way they were meant to be enjoyed.

Stopped for some whisky tasting and to visit the winery. Two bartenders on staff. There was a small bachelorette group there. Both bartenders ignored us standing at the bar. We actually had to flag someone down to assist us. Then it was half engaged attention. Did the drinks and truffle flight. Drinks were disgusting. Watered down like they had been premade with ice earlier in the day and melted all day. None of them were good. Two of which we couldn’t even bring ourselves to drink. After they were delivered we were ignored the remainder of the time. Very disappointing.

I will come back again and again for the Brandy slushy and for your Bloody Mary mix called Remedy. We loved our stop here on the DC Trolley Tour.
I highly recommend the gift shop as the choices are endless!

Sampled some spirits and bought a couple of bottles to bring home. Nice building shared with Door Peninsula Winery. So you can sample some wines there also. Nice barrel room to sit in while sampling spirits or having a cocktail.

Really enjoyed the cherry vodka at some local establishments around Door County. So thought I would go straight to the distillery to buy a bottle, as I did. Low and behold down the road at the gas station it was 4 dollars cheaper. Wth??

We were here in July 2020 and very much apprecaited their socially distant patio. The tastings were great and drinks were also quite good!

Stopped in for the first time on a recent trip. The distillery was sharp. You could tell they had done their homework on presentation and floor space. It does have a certain wow factor. We bought some spirits and wine for friends after wandering through the enterprise. Great way to spend a couple of hours tasting and touring.
