Used the shuttle service to transport my kayak to the beginning of the D2 trip. It was easy to book and they showed up exactly as scheduled. The D2 trip (pine tree to Rt 13) was noted to be a 4hr trip but it only took 2hrs. Water was swift and fun. I recommend this trip!

Maddy and crew were amazing! The equipment was top notch! We rented kayaks and did an overnight trip. They were super easy to work with and accommodating. I would HIGHLY recommend Brule River Canoe and Kayak. A great value for the money and amazing people to work with!

We decided on a whim to schedule a kayaking trip while in Duluth. I found Brule River Canoe and called them, not really knowing what I needed to ask. Sam was very helpful and quick to answer all of my questions. Within a couple of hours we were on the water for a 4 hour trip.
The scenery was beautiful, but with us not exactly being seasoned kayakers, we chose the least difficult route. It had a few thrilling areas, but was mostly flat and required a great deal of paddling.
The crew picking up the kayaks at the stopping point were friendly and helpful in even carrying our kayaks up to the roundabout for me. If looking for a canoe or kayaking adventure, regardless of your skill level, try these people out.

Four family rented kayaks 5/28 for a 2 hour trip and had a great time. We have rented several times over the years while on vacation and they have always been very professional and the equipment was in very good condition. The person who helped us was very polite and friendly. We would highly recommend this rental supplier.

The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The store has lots of clothing items, and some necessities for a successful trip down the river.

The river is absolutely gorgeous. Full of fun, wildlife and scenery. The historic cabins and boathouses are a must see.

There are some rapids on the river to speed things up and add a flair of adventure. There are places along the way to eat lunch in the first couple of miles.

It is all about the river, yes. But getting there and back is all about the shuttle/rental service. Super convenient and frequent. Sorta like having a big family nearby who will drop you off at your put-in and pick you up at the take-out. Only the BRCR doesn't squabble over that time your kid insulted Aunt Matilda or the standard "I can't understand why a thank you note is such a terrible thing to expect from a graduate!" The drivers are courteous in my experience plus they're pretty accommodating schedule-wise. Cost seemed reasonable. Cheaper than buying an Old Town, for sure. As far as the mouse portrait goes, I just threw that in as an extra, for your viewing pleasure.

Appreciate your response. We are directly between Ashland, Wisconsin and Duluth, Minnesota so we don't get the influx of thousands of people in a day from a "Big" city. Creates a great place to get away and enjoy wildlife as it is meant to be enjoyed, peaceful and quiet.

If you are looking for an adventure in the great outdoors this is it. I am an amateur at best and so were the people that went canoeing with me...we made it and had a good time doing so. It took us about 3.5 hrs, but you could easily spend more time if you stopped and took a break. Awesome views, and wildlife...very peaceful. If you go bring a cooler you can strap down, bring some grub, cold ones, sunscreen, bug spray, sunglasses, and wear your swim suit, and waterproof footwear. You are assured a good time.

I have been doing the Brule and renting my equipment for BRCR since 1975. You can always count on decent canoes and kayaks, along with service this is top notch. Whether you are just a novice or an experienced kayaker, there's a trip for your skill set on the Brule. The river is still pristine with plentiful wildlife to enjoy. Let's hope the visitors to this great river respect it.

We took the 4 hour trip. Was beautiful, but the time of year that we went, the water current didn't help us along. It was 4 hours of constant paddling. Enjoyed the trip though!!

Thanks for the review! For some the A1 Trip is a bit too much flat water, fortunately the rest of the river is faster and has a more drastic elevation change.
