This place use to be great, but now it is way over crowded for how small of an area it has. I got there this morning to help my 2 , 2 year old frenchies try and adventure in and was not even there 3 min and 3 cars pulled in and everyone came running up at once. So my dogs went over to check it out and this wise dog owner let my dogs out because his dogs were not leashed and all over the place so he so kindly stood there with the gate hanging open. So glad him and his 2 dogs got to go enjoy the water while myself and another lady got ahold of my dogs who thought they were at a dog park and went running off. I have gone with my moms dog and it has been chaos almost every time. Way too many people and dogs in 1 little launch/pen is just a cluster and asking for trouble. Especially since most people now days don't think or have respect for others nor common sense.

Nice beach with lifeguards and playground for kids. Nice bike or walking trail all around the lake. Little fish were biting toes and that was not fun, but the place is nice and fun for the kids.

We visited the park on a Sunday afternoon. After arrival we found the water was evacuated for thunder. We found that if a lifeguard hears thunder, the water is cleared for 30 minutes. Each time they hear it they add on 30. They also ban people from the sand and playground areas. Bummer. I asked about 30 other people if they heard thunder, no one did. I called every neighboring community pool and swimming hole, and found no other park or swimming pool closed due to the weather or threats of weather. Finally we were allowed to swim, and the lifeguards are over the top with their policing the crowd. No rough housing, no hanging on each others back, no pushing, no splashing, no running in to the water, etc. You just about had to just stand there. Then they started asking every little kid how old they were and asking where the parents were. My kids were asked several times and I was standing right next to them. And on top of it, my 13 year old had the baby on her hip and they told her she could not carry the baby in to the water. She could not hold a two year old? Not to mention both girls, strong swimmers were "flunked" on their swim tests because they did not keep their faces in the water when swimming their front crawl. Two sections were closed, one leading to the raft and one for swim tests forcing the bulk of the people into a few small areas. You could not turn around without bumping into someone, and got yelled at by the lifeguard for running in to someone. Sorry, but waaayyy to much. We packed up and left seriously disappointed.

A former quarry turned County park Fox Brook offers a classic beach/water afternoon experience. The beach sand is clean, the water area is sand bottom.
The pond/quarry offers fishing along its handicap accessible banks and yes there are fish to catch.
The one drawback is that on warm sun-filled summer afternoons crowds can swell. Get there early if you would like a picnic table. Otherwise bring a big blanket, some food and drinks and you'll be set. The bathrooms are clean and adequate. I'll be returning in 2018.

We lived near this park for years. We took kids swimming, rented paddle boats, and walked and rode bikes on the paths around the lake. It's a nice little suburban park. Also rented the covered hut for a party. Try it. You'll like Fox Brook Park. You'll need to pay a fee for a day pass to park.

I have three children of varying age. I like the set up of the park because you can sit in the middle of the sand area to watch the little ones who play in the shallower end while also keeping an eye on the bigger kids (teens) who are able to swim out to the raft for diving board in the deeper end. The life guards are trained, always keeping an eye on the swimmers, and I feel for them when people challenge their rules. The rules are for keeping your kids safe and several times I have witnessed irate parents demand wrist bands for their kids who cannot swim to the deep end. Life guards stand your ground!! Safety is safety!!

Great place to walk the dog....They are all leashed except by the dog beach. Everything is clean and the path is a perfect width and distance... My dog loves watching all the people enjoying the picnic areas, beach and the Park...

This is the best place in Brookfield for a walk in the park. The lake and the special doggie swim area are fun to be around and the railroad tracks on the edge of the park provide a little train watching diversion that includes both freight and passenger service. Picnic areas, beach and a nice activity center that can be rented fill out the feature list.

My husband and I were visiting the different Waukesha County Parks looking for a clean, safe area to take our young grandchildren to play on a beach and swim. This was a pleasant surprise to find an area that is managed well with lifeguards and a clean concession stand open in the summer. You could also rent a Pedal boat, or fish in designated areas. They also had a separate dog swim area. This left the beach area for safe swimming.

Do you also rent kayaks and, if so, how much?
