So why would we go to this obscure museum in the small town of Belgium Wisconsin? When your wife's family is originally from Luxembourg! She had been wanting to visit this place on previous trips back to the Midwest but we just never found the...More

The museum certainly provides people with a bit of an insight to Luxembourg and the people who left Luxembourg in the 18 hundreds. Information on the recent political situation in Luxembourg should be updated. If you want to do research on ancestors, there are people...More

If you like history, or maybe researching ancestors, a good place to visit. Particularly if you are of Luxembourger descent. It's not a huge place. If you don't do research, you'll be in and out in an hour. Friendly staff, learned a few things in...More

A great little museum with a lot of history of the Luxembourgers. They also have an extensive genealogical archives with newspapers, obituaries, and photographs. Just outside the door is a new Luxembourg town hall, and they're in the process of building a community of contemporary...More

I've seen the sign for the LACS many times while traveling on I-43. My husband's descendants were from Luxembourg so we decided to stop. The receptionist was friendly and her pride in the Society and the museum were evident. The museum is small but well...More

After spending Saturday at the festival we went to the cultural center/museum in the afternoon. There is a lot to see and the docent lead tour was very informative. Unfortunately, it was near closing time, we were very tired and didn't get to see and...More

I heard about this place and was intrigued by how a little country like Luxembourg could merit a museum in rural WI. It's full of photos and stories about the ties between the local region and the country of Luxembourg. Not really a kid friendly...More

I would like to visit your museum and research my Lux. ancestors. Anna Heltgen americanized (Hilkin or Hilken) came with her parents in1846 to Dubuque, IA. Within 2 years both parents died and Anna married Joseph Traut. No burial records can be found in Dubuque, St Donatus,or St Catherine Catholic burial grounds. Since I encountered this wall I have discovered that Anna had sibblings mentioned in Anna's obit. They were Peter, Jacob, Mary Noel, and Jennette Simon. I have tracked down descendents of each of them, but none of them can provide names of Anna's parents or what part of Lux. EU was their place of birth. Some of us would prefer a B & B or motel. Some of us would be interested in a local campground where the catching is better than the fishing. And some of us have spouses who aren't into research but love to shop and spend money. To sell this trip to spouses we would appreciate any suggestions you might have. Do you have festivals celebrating the Lux. culture, food, music we could use to sell a trip? Sincerely, John Nennig
