Thank you Devils Lake Climbing Guides and especially Kevin who was so much fun to hang out with for the day and made our first time on real rock such a great experience. He set up some fantastic routes of different skill levels and difficulties and not only encouraged us all the way through but gave pointers and tips -... More

My boyfriend and I had never been rock climbing before so we did an half-day evening course and it was perfect. Our instructor and guide James did an amazing job of getting us oriented with the basics and telling us about the history of Devil's Lake. He took us to 3 perfect routes for our interest and level. I would... More

This was our first experience with climbing. It was our "Next big adventure" with my 13 year old. Right from the booking to the completion, was A-1. Nick was great to work with setting it up. Dawson and Sarah were awesome guides!! Super knowledgeable and made us feel relaxed, confident and accomplished. Thanks for the great experience.

Excellent guide company. We took their Anchors I and II courses with James Schroeder. He really made us feel safe the entire time for our first climbing experience outdoors. He also brought us to some REEEAALLY cool places to work on the skills we were learning in the course. I would absolutely recommend them to anybody looking to get out... More

We took our Boy Scout Troop to Devil's Lake in Baraboo, WI to work on our climbing merit badge. We used Devils Lake Climbing Guides as our professional instructors to make sure we had a safe, instructional and overall fun time. From the start, Nick (the owner) was very responsive to my email correspondence. Since we had a Scouting group,... More

I had never climbed before, not counting a few lame experiences with small, indoor climbing walls. And I'm afraid of heights. But I wanted to push myself, and so signed on for a session with Devils Lake Climbing Guides. Our group went out with Nick, the owner, and had a phenomenal experience. He got all of us to reach down... More

My wife and I took the Anchors 1 class instructed by Ben from Devil's Lake Climbing Guides. While my wife had been a climber back in college, I am new to the sport. But by the end of the class I was eager rather than intimidated to set up my own anchor. The class content was great and well laid... More

I took 7 of my 11 year old Girl Scouts and 2 fellow Moms on this trip. We spent the day with Nick, Kat and Sarah, all fabulous guides. The trip went beyond my expectations with all of us learning how to tie our own ropes and belay for our friends. A wonderful day to push our boundaries, learn something... More

I've been climbing in the gym pretty regularly and doing a couple sport climbs and top ropes outside each year but I haven't been trad climbing in over 10 years. To say my gear placement and anchor setting skills are a little rusty is an understatement. I spent the day with Nick at Devil's Lake and took it slow leading... More

Our group of 3 had a great day with the owner of DLCG, Nick. Our day lasted from 7:30am to 3pm and we had the opportunity to try 6-7 different routes. The route names I remember include Chicago (5.9), Berkeley (5.6), Peter's Project (5.7), Brinton's Crack (5.6) and Brinton's Direct (5.8). The 3 of us are almost exclusively gym climbers... More
