I read the reviews here before deciding to go with my wife so my expectations were pretty low but it didn't even reach my lowered expectations. Maybe it was because we were there on a weekend in December, but only half of the animals were out. The black bear, bobcat, monkey and Canada lynx were not in their enclosures. Granted... More

As photographers, my Wife and I really appreciate this Zoo. There is small variety of animals but are easily seen and photographed. This is a very well kept zoo as well, and the grounds around the whole park is beautiful and has ample parking. Although it's a free zoo, we always make a donation at it's donation box while we're... Love Ochsner Park & Zoo. Great free activity in Baraboo! We come here a couple times a year and can spend anywhere from 15 minutes to a couple hours here.

We were in Wisconsin Dells, and I was just aghast at the commercialism that abounds on the strip. So we got off the beaten path, went to State Parks Mirror Lake, Devils Lake & Parfey Glen it was so awesome and fun! Great scenery but we happened to Baraboo and found this little gem in the middle of town. A... More

Stopped in there on a family trip to Baraboo. It was off season. Kids really enjoyed it. Loved the Prairie Dogs & the Bears.

The zoo is small but has a nice selection of animals. You can feed ducks and geese. You can pet goats, and I believe pigs. My daughter loved the moneys. The zoo is adjacent to the park so kids can also play on the equipment. It is a fun afternoon stop.

My wife and I visited when we were in town visiting Circus World. It is obvious the people running the place are looking to bring it forward by getting rid of the row cages and working toward a new natural river otter exhibit. The price is way low (FREE) and there are only a few dozen animals, but it makes... More

If you are visiting Baraboo, a must see zoo and park. Great for all ages. There is an extensive well maintained playground/picnic area just down a hill behind the zoo. It has several shelters and many tables on an expansive grassy and shaded park. It also overlooks a small rapids on the Baraboo River which can be accessed by a... More

For a free zoo this was pretty good. The only complaint I had was that the bear needs some sort of water feature to cool off. The bear was panting the whole time, and was sitting under the tree to try and get some shade to cool off. Overall it was a good experience, the kids really liked it!
