I try to come here at least every other year. So much to do but my favorite thing is hiking up the challenging trails, which basically means you clamber up the quartzite rockfalls for 700 feet until you get to the top... be sure to check out the Devils Doorway and Balanced Rock. Not for those with weak knees, especially... More

Our first time at Devils lake and we think there are likely many different types of hiking available. We didn't see much though because parking is very limited. Tried every lot, and no open spots. That was very disappointing. We had to drive out and had lunch instead. Went back later, about 6pm, and spots were opening up, although still... More

We had a great day at Devil's Lake State Park. What a beautiful State Park! We walked around the Devil's lake, starting with the trail of Tumbled Rocks. They had put some concrete all the way to the beach. I was mesmerized by what I saw. Quartz was everywhere, in both sides of the lake! Wow! It made the view... More

Parked on the north side, Walked up the East Bluff Trail, down the Balanced Rock then up the other side on the Tumbled Rocks Trail. Just over 3 hours in total including a stop on the south shore for a picnic lunch. The Balanced rocks section pretty steep and rocky so take your time.... Imagine the trail could be a... More

This State Park is excellent destination for hiking, especially when the fall colors or peaking like now, or swimming/hiking in the summer. The East Bluff Trail provides a great view of Devils Lake as you hiking. There are many steps constructed of natural grant rocks during the 1930's by the CCC at the north end the East Bluff Trail. The... More

Do swim the North Shore. Shallow waters 1/3 into the lake. The South Shore is rockier, steeper depth, but worth it as well. Hiking all over, with great views of this old Wisconsin river bed. Enjoy!

I came in the fall and the colors are absolutely stunning. The climb to the different points of attraction are worth it. If you go during the week, it is very peaceful.

We try to motorcycle around Devil's Lake every year and it never loses it's beauty. Go one way one time and the opposite the next, always a treat. If you are just passing through their is no charge. Fun curvy, winding roads make this a adventure every time. And the fall color is a added bonus. Their are plenty of... More

Great state park, one of the best in Wisconsin. Plenty of camping but make reservations early. Great for hiking and fishing.
