This park has some of the best views and hiking trails we have ever seen. We will try to return for the Fall colors. Keep in mind some of the trails are extremely difficult and may not be suited for young children. People should also practice common sense. We did witness some whom were not practicing it. One slip up... More

This is an outdoor venue and you can hike the east trail for great overlooks of Devil's Lake or the west side for a water side hike. The overviews of the trail are worth the climb and the trail is well maintained. After the hike jump into the lake and cook off. Great for kids to play.

This is a very beautiful place to visit. The lake is clear and the bluffs around it just make it look so secluded. They have numerous trails to hike on. Most are really nice with great views of the lake below, but need better signage. We got off the main trail because of poor/no signage. One trail was very difficult... More

Visiting from out of state. Spent 4 days in Baraboo and Southern Wisconsin including 1/2 day at Devils Lake State Park. Good hiking trails, beach, swimming and rentals of canoes, kayaks, paddle boards and such. It appears that no motorized craft are allowed on this lake. Facilities also include picnic tables, grills, restroom facilities (although quite filthy and lacking paper... More

Very pretty park near Baraboo. Very busy on the weekends so go during the week. Camping is good during the week as well. Weekends are super busy and not fun at all! Avoid times from 11am to 4pm due to the crowds. Being the most visited state park is not always a good thing. Beautiful rock formations. Trails not suitable... More

Beautiful park! We hiked the perimeter of the lake in about 3.5 hours. Balanced rock trail is .4 miles and the most challenging, you are going either straight up or straight down on a rock/step trail. The start of the East Bluff trail, where we began, was not well marked, but trails were marked well after that point. The park... More

I've reviewed this place with glowing reports of fond memories but that was when I just happened to luck out and had the whole place to myself on a weekday. If you hit the crowds on a packed summer weekend you might not have such a great time. It is crazy popular. If you go anyway, plan ahead, go early... More

We were on our way from Madison to Wisconsin Dells and decided to take a break at Devil's Lake State Park. This was our first visit in many years and we weren't disappointed. There were many visitors but tthere was a fealing of wide spaces. Grass, picnic benches, hot dogs for those wiyhout a picnic basket, trails for trained hikers... More

We started by hiking. There are so many wonderful trails from which to choose. Plan ahead of time by ch cling out the length and difficulty descriptions online. After hiking, we stopped by the Nature Center and went to the lake. We swam, picnicked, and rented a pontoon paddle boat. All in all, it was a great day!

Beautiful views from the Tumbled Rock trail! Nice trail and not too hard for this 70 year old lady. Nice facilities there too.
