We went on the glass bottom shipwreck tour. It was a beautiful morning to kayak. We had variety of experience in Kayaking in our group. The guides Eric and Leland were knowledgeable and great! They give you information about the Bailey's Harbor, the lake, history of them, Indian lore. As well as information about the light house and the shipwrecks. I would highly recommend this tour!

We are lucky to have a great group of knowledgeable guides year after year. We hope you decide to join us for another season down the road for some more Door County fun. Happy Adventures from us to you!

We had a great time - 4 of us in two tandem kayaks. We had not kayaked in years but handled it just fine. Enjoyed the scenery, including the rock formations and sea caves. Our guides Austin and - I think Eric - were very friendly and encouraging. They provided some good background on the lake. The lake level was high but we were able to go into one of the caves which was fun. Highly recommend.

CfBk77, Happy to hear you enjoyed our Cave Point tour with our friendly guides Austen and Erik. Also so glad your group was able to get inside one of the caves, seeing as this is harder to accomplish with the higher water levels now. Thank you for the great review and hope to see you all again in the coming seasons for more door county family-friendly adventures!

Booked a reservation for the glass bottom shipwreck kayak tour one day before—weather was incredible on the day of our tour—sunny, ideal outside; water like glass! I arrived for my 10 am tour, at the appropriate time—filled out the requested liability forms for the party of 5–handed to the worker who then says, “oh, your tour been cancelled”. Excuse me?! No explanation—just said I could go inside and ask “Alex” for further detail. Alex could and did not provide any details—only that tour not running and no options available except for zip line—was I sure I didn’t want to do zip line? I replied that I was not interested in the zip line option. Asked numerous times—Alex replies that I would get a refund in “3-5 days”—luckily, they did go ahead and process the refund. Really unprofessional overall—they had email and telephone—I had driven over an hour to get there, just for this kayak trip—should have known something was up when I read their sign outside—check out the spelling of “vehical”!

Hi Sharon. We only cancel our tours for the safety of our adventures and unfortunately on that day, due to the upcoming wind conditions, we had to cancel and could not offer any other shipwreck tours in the harbor. Our tours are subject to the weather and we evaluate the water conditions the day of. Once our guides notify us on the conditions, we then proceed to act accordingly. This can happen suddenly as the weather is always unpredictable. In these cases we offer refunds and reschedules. Since you were only here for the day we offered the refund for you and provided the option to join our zip line. In regards to our sign, no one is allowed to park in that spot besides our employee vehicles. Instead of being wasteful and having the manufacture create a new one, we kept it.

We chose the cave tour as that had the broadest appeal to our group (adults and teenagers). We signed waivers at the office then got bussed down to the starting point. You get your choice between tandem and solo kayaks. The paddle to the caves was maybe an hour, then they let you paddle into and around the caves, and then you paddle back to the starting point. Pros: Good equipment, good safety procedures, the guides are enthusiastic and take free pictures of you that you can download from Facebook after your tour. Cons: The guides really didn’t do anything other than take you there and back. They tried to give history lessons on the way there and at the caves, but it was pretty superficial. They are very heavy-handed with asking for tips. The guides asked twice, the bus driver reminded us, and then there was also a sign in the bus. At $60/pp, the guides shouldn’t have to beg for money.

Midwest Mere, Thank you for the constructive 4-star review! Glad to see you noticed the safety aspects of our operations and sorry to hear you felt badgered for tips. We do encourage tips in every way we can to support our guides as this is considered a service industry. However, with that being said we will take all of this into consideration and try to make changes for a bigger better season next year. Thank you and happy adventures!
