We were pleasantly surprised to find this usually dry course in great condition, due to recent rains. The course is definitely old-school, with smaller greens and minimal upkeep. Nonetheless, there are some challenging holes here, especially in the back 9.
I was surprised to be charged $44 for 18 holes with cart, after having paid only $52 for the same at The Orchards (a much nicer course) the day before. Even so, I recommend playing here - after you’ve played at Penninsula and The Orchards.

Course is good and fun to play. Likely this year was in the best shape it's ever been in.

Now, the pro shop attendant on August 17 at 8 am was not good or fun. He was a jerk from beginning to end.

We had a 9 and 12 year old playing with 3 of us. Understanding this is 5, but the 9 and 12 year old were going to best ball it with their cart mates and we'd keep (and indeed kept) a good pace.
Even before explaining this set up the man working the pro shop was short and rude. "Put your card in!" in a gruff manner he'd say as we each paid. No "Hey good morning guys" or kind word for the kids, instead zero eye contact and rudeness.

Luckily a maintenance guy on hole 7 was the opposite, very nice and full of words of encouragement fo the kids. Management, if this guy isn't one of them, should have the man mowing lawns moved to the front of house and the pro shop guy on the mower not talking to anyone.

Nice golf course and lodge. I especially like the Patio. Great place to meet up with friends on a nice day.
