Unbelievable!

Beautiful grounds! Loads of benches, picnic tables and activities. We were passing through on cross country drive and stopped to picnic. If this is an example of how Wheeling cares for it’s community, it is a hidden gem! Well worth the stop.

Ice Skating
Dec 2020 • Couples
My husband and I got a coupon for free admission to ice skating here during our stay at Oglebay. It was packed on a Monday afternoon. There were so many people on the ice that it just wasn’t an enjoyable time because you were worried about people who couldn’t skate running into you, not to mention not being able to spread out because of covid. We left after an hour. If they limited the number of people able to come in, it would have been more enjoyable.

Serene place to enjoy
Oct 2020
Hubby and I wanted to enjoy our take-out lunch and stopped at the park. It is incredibly lovely with a small lake, ducks and picnic tables to sit and enjoy the view. There is plenty of parking so you can walk around and get your exercise. In addition, we learned of their indoor pool and skating rink. golf course as well so it's a park that can be enjoyed year round. What a great place to visit. It was a good time for us since the leaves were turning and the sight was incredible.

Beautiful Grounds
Sep 2020
Indeed, the panoramic views of Oglebay’s manicured landscape are a beautiful setting. - Oglebay is a beautifully landscaped, 2,000-acre public park, studied by planners worldwide as the only self-supporting public municipal park in operation in the United States. It stands as a successful tribute to Earl W. Oglebay, a notable achievement of the Wheeling Park Commission, and a credit to the many benefactors and organizations involved in its growth. While Oglebay is operated mainly through guest revenues, the park offers more free activities than any other operation of its type in the country.

Really nice pool!
Jul 2019
We enjoy this pool every year. It’s not far from home and the passes are a good deal. We buy the swim and unlimited water slide passes. They also have a water floatation obstacle course, diving boards and large clean pool. They sell drinks, food, snacks, and ice cream. I learned this summer they offer birthday parties as well. The restrooms and changing stalls are decent. Lockers for storage are also available. Overall a really reasonably priced place to swim!

Great family time
Aug 2019
We went on a Sunday and it was well worth the day trip for us. For a one-price wristband, you can play mini golf, go on the pedal boats, use the Olympic size pool and water slide. The pool is well maintained and the changing areas are spacious. Not much shade at the mini golf area. There are picnic tables scattered about the park, where we had a picnic lunch in between activities. The website gives full details.

Hill or Valley, golf,swim/skate, stroll

Wheeling Park is a large (free) parking lot surrounded by the park's attractions. Walking, jogging, sitting- all done without needing to drive to another spot. Like hilltops? Go up the road to their second location for sunrise/sunsets. Swim in summer, Ice skate in winter, picnic year round.

Nice Pool!
Aug 2018 • Family
We went there for the first time this summer and it’s a really nice pool! They have a pass that includes unlimited waterslide rides, the pool and paddle boats. The pool has diving boards and an obstacle course. They have nice clean changing stalls, restrooms and a snack bar. They don’t allow coolers though. For the price it’s well worth it!
