My book club visited Eckhart House for the Tea Luncheon. It was a lovely luncheon. The hosts went out of their way to make our visit special, including letting us have multiple pots of different flavored teas. They even made a special wrap for our friend who did not like one of the ingredients. Beautiful house, delightful presentation, delicious food.

We enjoyed our vista SO much, my husband and I love state history and we got quite a lesson visiting the Eckhart house. It is a place we intend to visit again. Enjoyed a lovely tea and could have easily spent the rest of the day there. Kind, lovely people.

This Victorian Tearoom & Gift Shop is beautiful, charming, authentic, beautifully appointed & maintained and is filled with ambiance galore. A lovely variety of teas accompanied by delicious finger sandwiches, scones, & fruit. Service was good as was the proprietor's story if the history & his tour of this spectacular example of Victorian architecture (by itself about 45 min). Unbelievably... More

Joe and Gretchen make our visits to Eckhart House interesting and informative. We always check out the gift shop before or after tea. Joe is an expert on history of Wheeling and Eckhart House in particular. Scones are always on the menu with clotted cream and jam. Usually cucumber sandwiches make an appearance along with varied dainty sandwiches, bar cookies... More

Had a very nice time at tea there in April 2016. Wonderful finger sandwiches of cucumber and dill and yummy scones and other sweeties with a very nice seasonal tea, sorry can't remember what kind. Also took the tour of the house that was a must, must, must for history buffs of the Wheeling area. Nice gift shop of teas... More

We have visited Eckhart House many times, and have especially enjoyed the holiday teas. The food is wonderful, homemade, and the teas are heavenly! The gift shop is a great place to purchase some one-of-a-kind items. And, of course, you can purchase tea and accessories to brew your own tea at home. This historic home, which is on the National... Another wonderful visit with my sister, Aunt and cousin for fantastic tea, (caffeine free Earl Grey!) with lovely homemade scones with fresh cream and jams.

We came with a group and half went upstairs for the tour of the Victorian style home and the other half enjoyed some lovely tea and cookies and looked around the gift shop. We were served mint chocolate tea, which was delightful. I bought some to take home. We all were given a small box full of cookies to take... More

Built by a banker in 1892. The home has maintained the same architectural style with the exception the kitchen has been remodeled. The new owners have been in the home 25 years and the husband and wife serve te and also give tours.
