It was worth the time to stop and view the bridge. After seeing it first hand you can see its history although driving across it can be an eye opener.

There is an excellent display regarding this bridge from the 1800's in the Oglebay Mansion that is necessary to really appreciate its importance in its day.

I'm on a quest my kids to travel to all 50 states. We traveled through WV and needed a stop. I chose this bridge as our photo op Landmark. It's easy to get to off i70 and it was a quick stop.

Just neat to drive over such a historic structure and realize the years and years in use. Loved the look with the river for pictures.

This bridge is a must see when in Wheeling. Love to walk across this bridge. One of a few bridges that are held up by cables left in our country. Do not miss the walk across much better than driving across.

I like driving across the suspension bridge. I have yet to see it open to river traffic. That i would like to see.

We love small towns, especially ones with historical appeal. The bridge leads from one depressed area to a depressed city. In fact, the bridge itself is in need of ongoing maintenance and it's not being cared for. The marketing material on this city overstates the...More

We stayed overnight in wheeling on a road trip. Went to see the bridge at night when it was lit up and drove across it again in the morning. Worth seeing...especially if you are fascinated by bridges, engineering, etc. You can truly see it better...More
