The Capitol Theater in Wheeling West Virginia is a unique experience from start to finish. If coming from the east on l-70 get in left lane upon entering Wheeling tunnel onto main street. Then make a left into 10th street. Stay in left lane and make a left at next red lite to entrance to parking garage. Parkings $5. Then a short 1 block walk to capital music hall. On the way stop at bridge bar ( look for guitar sign) great place for pre concert food and drinks. Then head to the beautiful theatre. You will go through a security check. Leave items and large purses at home for quick entry. They have ushers who will direct you to your seats. The inside is stunningly beautiful . I wished I was here in the Hank Williams glory days. We saw Dwight Yoakam who was fantastic . Dwight brought the house down with his encore Elvis Presley's Suspicious Minds. There's also a snack bar inside and you can drink at your seats. The Capitol music hall should be experienced by everyone. There also is a downtown hotel across the street if you wish to spend the night after a event.

We came to the Capitol Theatre to see Ticket to Nashville a musical. The show was fantastic. Two thumbs up! Great music & laughter. It was a wonderful evening. The theatre is quaint and delightful. It was just as much a treat as the musical. Prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly and helpful. We would recommend seeing a show at the Capitol Theatre. Wheeling, WV is lovely.

Attended doo wop show in April 2017. Theatre is nice. Show was okay. Some performers not so good. Lobby to crowded with tables making it hard to get in and out. Prices of tickets reasonable.

Five groups were on the bill for the show, but only 3 really showed up. The Jaggers performed well and ended with their hit song of the Rapper. The capris did well with their set as well. The vogues stole the show with their performance.
Now the bad news...the Marvellets were pretty bad. There were 3 singers and a founding member on stage. The singers were just loud..not good singers. The founding member had to helped on and off the stage. I gave her props for showing up, but wow...that was bad. The Loving spoonful sang songs I have never heard of until late in The show. Their act was inspired and really fell short as the headliner. This is probably my last doo wap....

The hub of culture - at least in this little part of the Ohio Valley. The theatre hosts a wide variety of musical and other acts annually and the ambiance of the vintage but very well maintained theatre can't be beaat in these parts. Parking options are less than optimal but not terrible.

Attended doo wop show inn October and enjoyed it very much. The price of tickets are very reasonable and this old theatre is the perfect place to see this kind of show. The crowd is always lively and friendly. There is plenty of parking near by. Just a short walk to the theatre and very cheap. Gary Lewis and the playboys and the Diamonds were among the 5 acts performing. They meet in the back after the show to meet the people. You can also go upstairs for an after party with a bar, dj and dancing. The stars come up too. Great way to spend in evening.

I finally had a chance to see a concert here and was stunned at how meticulously preserved this building is. Wow. Acoustics were super. Employees friendly. And the concessions are as cheap as you can get (a good thing). I'm certain any event here would be worth the admission. A true gem of the great city of Wheeling.

To have a jewel like this in a city the size of Wheeling is truly a blessing. The entertainers that have graced this stage is amazing. It provides a historical venue to be entertained by the thousands that have been here, from Presidents, to symphonies, to rock stars, comedians, Broadway plays, speakers, etc. It provides an elegant and comfortable venue for any form of entertainment. A true jewel for Wheeling and the state of West Virginia.

Attened a doo wop concert and had a great time. Theatre is located right off highway and has plenty of parking close by. Been here a few times and all seats are good and the prices for tickets are good. Great place.

It's not what's good, The issue is what is open due to staffing. I suggest taking anything that's open.

Hi, I have a ticket to attend the Dwight Yoakum concert at the Capitol on this Saturday the 23rd. Is there still available parking in the 11th St. parking garage just North of the Capitol Theatre? I have parked there in years past. Thanks.

I have never been to Capitol Theatre and just found out that there is going to be a Pink Floyd light show by The Machine coming in April. I LOVE PF and am dying to see this show! I have checked out seating that is available but not sure if best seats to get for a light show concert. Pit and some Loge r still available as well as a little of everything else. Soooo, r Pit seats the best way to go? Loge seating because of light show aspect? Or???? Any recommendations would be GREATLY appreciated!

Tenantheater, We too are excited about The Machine music and laser light show. The lasers and music of Pink Floyd will be a great show. I could give you the standard every seat is good answer, but if you can get a seat in section 2 or 3 row L or a couple of letters back from there, that would be your best location to see all of the lights. As a frequent attendee at theatre shows these are the best seats. My opinion. Thanks and we look forward to seeing you in April.
I am thinking about come down with my wife in may to see rent she love the play.. we have never been to the theater.. I would like to know what would be the best tickets to buy..

Marc P, We would love to have you join us for the Broadway Musical "Rent". I would suggest seats in section 2 or 3. These seats are closer to the center of the theatre. Others seem to like the first few rows in the mezzanine too.

Is there close parking at this venue. We are going to see Jerry Seinfeld and we aren't familiar with the area.

Yes, there are three ground parking lots on Main Street prior to the Suspension Bridge and the Capitol Theatre. There is also a parking garage on 11th Street - make a left off of Main Street--you will see the Suspension Bridge on your Right - make a left and stay in the left lane--the parking garage will be on your left. I hope this helps. If you get there earlier enough, you can also park free on Main Street.
